More Succulents

Still Loving...
I'm still having a love affair with succulents.
The best place I've found to purchase them is
Greenhouse Nursery in Norman, Oklahoma.
Many varieties there.
I did a post about Greenhouse here.
I'll be making a trip there soon now that we are in to planting weather.

Best place to find faux succulents?
I think is Hobby Lobby.
If you don't have a Hobby Lobby in your state....you can shop them online.
They have lots of little ones so you can create a faux succulent garden.

I have yet to try succulents outside...because they won't make it through the winter here.
But I'm thinking they should over winter well inside.
Any thoughts on this?

Want to see more succulents? Check out my Succulents board on Pinterest.

Currently in store at Pier 1  we have this
painting of a succulent.

I'm kind of loving it. It's large and it's on sale.

I bought a burros tail and string of pearls last summer and decided to try to keep them alive over the winter. I hung them in the basement next to a window and left them alone. This is at our lake house so we turn the heat down~it is cool down there. last weekend I checked on them and they are alive! The burros tail looks terrific;the string of pearls is a bit leggy so I trimmed off the growth. I am excited to be able to have them outside again this year!

My succulents make it through the winter outside and I basically ignore them 99% of the time and that is another wonderful thing about them. I wintered a night blooming cerus cactus in my lawn mower shed and it did fine and that shed has no heat.

Such a pretty post. I LOVE succulents. My sister gave me some off her plant last year and said they'd grow just about anywhere. I killed 'em, of course. Someday I WILL have a succulent garden! I will have to check out your board.

I love the succulent wreaths and the ball! Fabulous! I have never particularly liked them, but you are beginning to change my mind.
Have a good weekend, Nita!

I love succulents they grow all over my back garden wall & I have taken to just gathering some and placing them in new places so now they are in the front garden too. I am determined to make the framed vertical succulent garden this spring.

Now those are some succulents, so many varieties of shapes make them very interesting, love the colors. Succulents seem to thrive in different climates also. We had hens/chicks in KY outside all winter that did fine. They don't do as well in really cold winter temps in western CO.
They keep multiplying in fair/hot weather so I'll be dividing them for more containers really soon. The ones we have we brought with us from KY, didn't have enuf to move had to bring hens/chicks. I'll be looking for more varieties I can buy and try. Happy Weekend

Wow those containers of Succulents are beautiful! I don't think anyone around here (Vermont) designs with them often, I wouldn't know what they need for care, loved the gorgeous images you shared & the print at Pier 1 too!

Love the succulents in the frame. I have just recently started with succulents and I was amazed at how well they did through the winter. We were gone during a cold snap, a low of 29 here and they did fine. Some were on my patio and one planter was out in the yard but near the fence. I thought they were goners, but they never showed any signs of being out in the cold. I on the other hand hated the cold.
