A Tudor Garden

It has finally cooled here a bit....only 99 as opposed to 110.
I am finally today going to plant this chandelier for Shelly.
It's been so hot, I was afraid anything I planted in it would die.
I'm not sure what to do about the candle situation. As you can see there are
nuts and bolts sticking up through the bobeches.
So this may be a challenge.
I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage and holes in the bobeches from which to hang prisms.
But I'm thrown when it comes to where the candles will go.
I originally thought I'd jut drill out a bit of the wax on the bottom of each candle so that the
nut and bolt went up inside of the candle.
But..then it occurred to me that at the bottom of a candle is the little metal disk that holds the wick.

So not sure what I'll do.
But I'll figure out something.

You can always glue a candle holder like the ones for tealights or a plate to hold it. It gives a flat base for the candle to sit on.

Love where you're going with this. And yes, brutally hot here too, although today it's only supposed to be 90!

Get those glass dishes for candles that have a lip and flip it over. It will cover the bolt and if the candle melts keep it from melting alllllll over the chandelier!

Gorgeous creation by the way!

Hugs~

What a pretty Tudor garden for a pretty Tudor house. Be sure to show us the chandy after you're finished. I want to see where it hangs.

Hi Nita, what a pretty cottage garden. I think you can saw off the metal bottoms. They are there to hold the wick when the candles are being made and the hot wax is poured inthe mold. I think that is the only purpose, so saw it off with a steak knife and dig out a small hole. Nice of you to plant that for Shelley~she is gonna love it.

I did something similar with a chandy and I simply filled the cup with rice and set the candle on the rice. You might want to try something like that:D

I am sure it will look great. Maybe you could screw the candles on it.

Oh...I love all your suggestions for putting the candles in the bobeches. One of these will work, I'm sure.

Hello Nita! We live in the opposite side of the world. While it's summer in your place, it has been raining a lot in my country. We rarely see the sun here. And your garden feature, I love them. :)

What a beautiful garden! And I love your chandelier. You could just put some Prestik (I'm not sure what it's called in the US but its that sticky stuff) at the bottom of the candle to hold it in place. x Sharon

Maybe mini terracotta planters? They already have a hole in the bottom of them and would fit over the protrusions.
