Blog Award

Thanks ever so much!
Amy at
honored me with this award.

Thank you, Amy.

Now I am to tell 7 things about myself. I did this once before a few months ago (see here) all of those things still apply except for my job as I am now a free agent due to my being laid off at the end of last May. But I thought surely I could come up with more interesting factoids about myself.
Well, I don't know how interesting they are but here goes.

Seven Things About Me.
1. I live in Oklahoma City and love my neighborhood and my part of the city but I wish I lived in Charleston, South Carolina. To me Charleston has it all - history, great houses, art, churches, good shopping and the ocean.

2. I paint.
This is a little painting I did of my friend Shannon's dog, Fred who loves frogs. (he does not hurt them....he's very protective of them)
This is his cartoon self.
He's a 100lb husky/german shepherd mix with one blue eye and one brown one.
And he is a very good boy.

3. I'm single but have been asked to get married several times. I was engaged twice but it didn't stick.
But I kept the ring both times.
Believe me....I earned them.
I've always loved this Martha Stewart photo.
I didn't think I'd ever have a reason to include it on my blog...and then look....I found a way.

4. My most favorite breakfast in the whole world is puffed rice with blueberries on top.
This isn't quite that...pictured above but it was the closest I could find. Subtract the raisins. I don't like raisins in anything...except oatmeal cookies. Other than that...I think they ruin everything else they get put in. Anyway....just plain puffed rice...plain fresh blueberries and a little sugar and milk. My favorite. The best. Although, I rarely have it, because I rarely eat breakfast.

5. My favorite soup is Matzo Ball Soup made from my Mom's family recipe. It is the best matzo ball soup in the entire world. What makes it good are the bits of ginger and cinnamon in the balls. I've never had anyone else's that was any good. We sometimes have it for Christmas dinner and sometimes for Easter. My sister will have it any old time but I prefer it for special occasions only. I'm all about delayed gratification...hence why I was engaged and never married. I kept putting off the weddings.

6. I know how to crochet....see this post (Seize the Crochet Hook!)

STOP, DROP & ROLL
7. I once caught a date on fire.
It involved a serious make out session and candles.
He said he was hot...
I thought he said I was hot.
Then I realized he WAS hot!
He had flipped the back of his jacket on to one of the candles while we were kissing on the sofa
and the whole back of his jacket went up in flames.
He was fine.
But we never went out again.
I can't imagine why?
I took fast action and told him to "Stop, Drop and Roll".
Of course I had to sleep with him after that...how could I not after I'd set him on fire?

I think that is more than enough information for now. I can't get another one of these awards or I will really be dragging the bottom of the barrel and exposing more things about me that probably shouldn't be known.

Now I am passing along this award to other bloggers that inspire me.

and one more special one that I'll do an in depth post about soon....

Here's a hint....
coming soon

I hope you enjoy visiting them as much as I do.

Now each of these lovely blogs needs to pass the award on to their favorite blogs and tell 7 things about themselves.

Oh, thanks so much for the award! I really aspire to make my home as lovely as yours. It's so adorable that I don't know if I would want to trade it for a Charleston-style house even if I had the opportunity, but Charleston is a lovely city - about the only gem in South Carolina as far as I'm concerned. ;-)
