It's Ground Hog Day!

and Repeat
 It's Ground Hog Day!
Currently I feel just like Bill Murray in the movie.
(one of my all time favorite movies)
I pinned these photos to send to a client at work.
She has a beautiful old sofa that she wants to recover and needs some inspiration.
 I remembered seeing this jewel.
She'll recover the antique sofa in a neutral and then we'll do new furnishings in lots of colors
to surround it.

Fun project!

Yesterday at work I overheard a customer say...
"I wouldn't say we are doing neutrals in that room but more an absence of color".

Huh?

Sometimes I question...am I insane or the only sane one?

And if the world is insanely crazy...I guess you better just get on board with the crazies.

Pretties on a Saturday

Aprons
Silk Pillows
China in a Birdcage
(stating the obvious)
Blue Glass
Stack of Turquoise

Summer is winding down...
Labor Day being the last official holiday of the summer and all.

I hope you have a wonderful Labor Day.
I'll mostly be laboring on this Labor Day Weekend.

That's the retail life

for me.

Pillows

I added this pillow to my collection.
Yes, bought at Pier 1. It's on clearance right now.
It was just too pretty to pass up.
I'm moving other things around in the living room too.
I'll show next week.
I just love the colors on that vintage globe.
Although, everyone points out that it does not go with my decor.

Thanks to all of you who tried to cheer me after I said I was depressed from after the 4th.
I know why I get that way...and after all these years now...I just can't shake the feeling.
It's because my Mother taught school.
Fourth of July always meant that she would start thinking about going back to school.
August first she would be in full swing preparing for it.
I hated when school started up because of this.
Personally, I liked school and didn't mind going back.
But my Mom going back meant all Mother duties went on the back burner.
My Dad was miserable. He hated when she went back and if Dad was unhappy...we were all unhappy.
Not that he did anything....but he complained and was irritable.
And Mom was tired all the time.

My Mom has been retired now for nine years, but I still get that dreaded feeling of
the end of summer coming.
I wonder if I'll ever get over it?

Back to School signs send shivers down my spine.
I hate them sooo much.

Adding a little sparkle...

to to the living room.

Last week, I picked up this pretty little bugle bead covered pillow at Pier 1 at 40% off. The store by my office was having a going out of business sale. Sorry, to see it go...but there are other locations. I would never had paid full price for it...so was happy to get it at the discounted one. It's a perfect little addition to my vintage inspired pillow collection which you can view here.

So silver screen movie-ish befitting my little Hollywood Hills inspired home.

Pillow Talk

Pillows collected over time add to the Hollywood ambiance of my home. Sometimes I like to pretend that I'm living in the Hollywood Hills circa 1931. The year my house was built. Oh...yes and that I am Jean Harlow....I have a mild obsession with Jean Harlow.

Pillows around my living room range from vintage bark cloth to vintage satin souvenir pillows from both Hollywood and New York plus a pretty blue ruffle pillow bought recently at Pier 1. These pillows above decorate a long low ottoman I bought at Ross (Love the Ross!). It adds extra seating in the living room.

Living the Mod Vintage Life and pretending I'm a movie star.
