Pink and Gold

I'm obsessing about everything pink and gold lately...are you?
check those pom pom fringed pillows!
 via
At work I'm always trying to lead people towards buy a Chesterfield
when they are considering a leather sofa.
Unfortunately, most of the time...they go for a big squishy sofa over the tufted Chesterfield.
Personally, I like the way a Chesterfield sits. I think the stiffness of it is a plus.
But most people don't like the feel of it. That one above is amazing in silver.

gold touches and pink wallpaper

Mirrored furniture with pink is always good...but adds some gold and its really special.
 via
Just a pink throw adds something special to this room.
 via
I love how this piece appears to be dipped in gold.
Little bits of pink and gold jazz up this room.

Just my thoughts on pink and gold.

Update on Violet...she had a good day today.
She woke up acting like her old self.

Two days on medication.
I'm being very careful about what I feed her just in case that is part of the problem.

If all days could be like today...we'd be golden.
She was feeling very good.

Thanks to all of you that have written expressing your concern about her health.
I've also appreciated all of your suggestions.

Some of you I've tried to write but you are "no reply" in the comments...as I'm afraid
I am of late too when I comment on other's blogs.

I hate how when you change it ...it automatically changes back to "no reply" after a little.

Very frustrating.

We had snow here today but not very much.
Suppose to snow again tomorrow.
I'm hoping it will be a light snow again.

Spring will be here soon...I can't wait.

Pink Chairs

For Valentines?
 via
I'm working on a project that involved me looking up lots of different sorts of chairs online.
In honor of fastly approaching Valentine's Day...here are some scrumptious pink chairs.
That bathroom above is like a wedding cake with pink accents, isn't it?
I love everything about it from the marble to the white cabinets, the fixtures, the roses and the chair.
 via
I'm not usually one for black furniture but the accents of pink make this really work for me.
By the way...I picked up my marble for my kitchen island and it is perfect!
My island is currently white but a different shade of white than my cabinets.
I'm thinking I should paint the island....black was the first color I thought of...but
I'm not really a black furniture person.

But put a big splash of pink on it and I am.
We'll discuss the island in the near future.
Oh...a little mid century modern...please...yes!
These bumble gum pink chairs with the tulip table just send me.
If you've read this blog for awhile...you'll know I want a Saarinen tulip table in my dining room.
I've been looking for a used one...but
I can get a new one from IKEA for $199

But then, you know I have a lovely dining room table already
so this is never going to happen unless I find one for like $50.

Ok, back to the pink chairs.
 via
Love the shape of this beauty and the pink velvet.
I love lots in this image. First the room! Can you believe that room with all the chippy
turquoise paint? The dress is a little polyester looking to me but it's a nice color.
But what I really want to point out is how that chair is all tied up. Really love that.
Oh...and I love this girl's hair. I'm sure this photo came from a bridal site.
And finally, this is the way to makeover a little bentwood chair.
Hot Pink!
This is just a precious little desk for a young girl.
Hey, I'd like it for this old girl.

Ok, I'm going back to my project.
I hope to share it soon.
I told myself I'd work all day and night tonight on it.

No rest for the wicked!

Oh...two more things - my sweet talented friend, Valorie aka The Visual Vamp lost her precious
Alberto suddenly two days ago.

I'm heartbroken for her.
I loved reading about her and Alberto's life in New Orleans where they both taught Tango lessons
and celebrated life each day together.

Alberto had a long running heart condition but his sudden death was not expected.

I've been thinking of her a lot ever since learning of his death.

Valorie is going to need all our support to keep going.
She's a dynamo but this will be a huge set back for her.

One more bit of sad news...

Ricki Jill of the blog Art @ Home suddenly lost her Bonnie Blue last weekend.
Little Bonnie Blue

She wrote me shortly after it happened wanting my words of wisdom since I have
been through the sudden death of a dog at an early age.

I'm afraid I didn't have any words of wisdom just words of
understanding having been there.

Same for Valorie...

I have cried and cried for both of these women the last few days.

I hurt so much for both of these women because I've been there in that dark place they are in now
and it's not a place I want to go back to.

And yet, we all will in our lives over and over...the trick is to rise up out of the pit
and live again.

I know it helped me so much to know I had friends all over the world that cared about me
during the bad times and I want both of these women to know how much I care about them now.

If you know them...go by and leave some words of comfort.

Thank you...

Bright Pastels

Happy Colors
I'll admit it...I LOVE pastels! Especially bright ones
I'd be so happy living in these spaces with these lively bright colors.
The bright green against the aqua walls is amazing!
And I don't usually like green very much. (except outside - love it outside)
I don't like different colored walls as a rule either but here...it's wonderful.
Oh...I'd love this room for an artist studio slash green house!
Which by the way...I've been doing some canvas painting.
I'll share soon.
This room is an example that you can still have bright pastels without saturating the room.
I'd be more likely to do this sort of room.
But after the others it seems kind of boring.
And the bits of bright pastels in this room really make it.
It would be dull without them.

Do you like bright pastels in a room?
Of course I love them at Easter time. Really I love them any time.

I did have a bright yellow rug with big pink flowers in my living room.
Because I was going to embrace bright pastels..but I grew to hate it.
I think I just put the bright in the wrong place.
I searched for photos of the rug but by the time I started this blog...I was already so sick of it,
I barely showed it.
Here is another little bit of it.
Then I just realized with my covering of my new ottoman in this fabric...
I'm totally headed back that way again.
I do love them!
Although I think this has enough brown and beige in it to ground it in the room.
I guess you love what you love and it always works it's way back into your decor.

Romantic Rooms

Sweet
Pretty romantic rooms for a dreary day.
It's raining here....finally.
We've needed rain so badly.
So good to hear it coming down outside.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and that always gets me in the mood for lots of pink.
Here's some pretty rooms taken from my Pinterest files.

We've got some really pretty Valentine things at Pier 1.

A nice rose wreath
cute garden flag
felt heart garland

This is my favorite thing we have.
I'm tempted to get myself but I'm making my decorations.

little glitter owl ornaments
and a big glitter owl

Sally came home yesterday from the vet.
She is just fine...and super cheerful.
Staying at the vet didn't seem to damage her emotionally.

Rosie is a little better today.
We took her again to the vet yesterday because
she still wasn't eating.

She has had us very worried.

I thought Sally's illness was because of stress but the fact that
Rosie came down with the same thing makes me think something got all
stirred up in my backyard with the sewer line replacement and they must have eaten
something they shouldn't have...so add $800 in vet bills on to the $4,000 sewer line cost.

I'm just hoping the others don't get sick too.
So far they all act fine.
Sally and Rosie are the biggest culprits for eating things they shouldn't.
So I'm guessing that is why they got sick.

...Dogs...
Makes you wonder how any dog ever survived in the wild.
