Fall Dining Outdoors

Well, the first signs of fall hit us here in OKC the last two days and now
all of a sudden I'm in a fall mood.

I just can't do it when it's 90 - 100 outside but Friday it was 60
and will be cool today too.

So I started thinking about lovely fall outdoor parties.

 via
That one above is amazing! I love the layered scraps of burlap on the table.
Just a few white and green pumpkins plus white mums make a perfect
fall display.
Oh....how I love all of this completely. The rough farm table with lace and
shabby candelabra and candle holders.
This is truly piece of art come to life.
Lights strung amongst the blaze of autumn trees.

Like I said, yesterday the weather changed and I spent it curled up with the weenies.
This photo reminds me of my Franklin.
I call Franklin my little fox cause he looks like a little fox except
he has droopy long ears and he's black, tan and white spotted.
Other than that he looks like a fox.
So it's really a stretch.

Did you know that when foxes are kept in captivity,
their ears start to droop?

Anyway, yesterday I watched hour after hour of Penny Dreadful.
It was on Showtime in the spring. I wanted to watch then but I don't have Showtime.
So I found it yesterday On Demand and yippee...a tv-athon for me!
I can't resist anything with Josh Hartnett in it.
We don't see enough of him in my opinion.
 Everyone is good in it.

It's a perfect show for Halloween - time.

And it happens just that fast.
Last week I couldn't imagine fall ever coming again and this
week I'm all in the mood for pumpkin - anything!

We got our first sign of fall yesterday, too. We got hit with frost and poof! all of my flowers are history! It was only 56 in our house this morning, so I've got the fireplace going and fall decorating in the works. Great inspiration photos, Nita! Did you notice the black feathers on the chandy in photo number 2? Fun idea for Halloween! Thanks for sharing.

It's 57 here this morning! I'm soooo happy. Seeing those fall tables really puts me in the mood for fall decorating! Maurie came home from Kroger last night and said they are covered up with mums and pumpkins, and I was all, yeah right, when it's 95 later this week those will be rotting in the heat and humidity. I think I'll just enjoy your photos for now :) Have a good weekend!!

It's even cool here this weekend! I guess I'm going to have to take down my beach mantle.

It was cold enough in Missouri yesterday I realized I better figure out how to turn the heat on in this house!

Oh, and Josh Hartnett... I've always wanted him to play Tommy Lee Jones's son in some movie as they've got a similar timber to their voices.

Love the first and second tables the most. I layer scraps of burlap on my tables as well, love the look. Love your fall header, too:) I live in the Midwest and this past week has definitely heralded fall, my favorite time of year!

I know just what you mean! The cooler weather had me all in a stir to pull out the fall and Halloween things, But this weekend we hosted a 1962 "Record Hop" cast party for our production of Hairspray. The weather saturday night for the dance was perfect for sitting out on the veranda and chatting in the screen lounge!
Burlap, I adore Burlap, gah I can't wait to decorate!

It's still hard here to think of Fall due to the high temps....But I do enjoy seeing the stuff in the stores. Sam and I love Penny Dreadful too, but oh how it moves at a glacial pace. It does have a ton of character developement which is good, but I was so ready to head to Africa and advance the story and they never left. Sam and I were in Pier 1 the other day and one of the assistant managers asked me to come back!?!...maybe you could go back to your store and they would welcome you with open arms.

I am loving that second fall table too. The leaves layered over the burlap looks simply fabulous. Those black chandeliers are a great touch to carry the look into Halloween. Love it! Thank you for sharing Nita.
