Fall Decor

On to Thanksgiving
Isn't this spectacular? Now that Halloween is over I can think about
Fall decorating. Even though I didn't decorate for Halloween this year
because I wasn't in a good place. I just didn't feel like celebrating.
I'm very ready to put out some fall things.
These are a few photos saved into my Pinterest files for Thanksgiving.
I love a good cornucopia.
These are photos from my Thanksgiving last year at my friend, Shannon's house.
Notice the cute little animals sprinkled throughout the centerpiece?
I'll be back there again this year. Isn't that huge hutch amazing?
When she buys new china (she has several sets for the different seasons),
she buys enough so that she can serve 12 without having to take any china off the shelves.
Because she doesn't want to ruin the display.
A bit obsessive perhaps. But I totally get it.
I'd probably fill it with a mix of things that I never used on the table.
But she likes people to think she actually uses it for storage when actually the pieces
she uses are stored in the drawers and on the shelves below.

Shannon is busy planning her menu for this year. We'll have a mix of family and friends.
Are you planning your Thanksgiving menu?

Don't you think these photos just scream warm and cozy. That is what I love about fall decorating. Love the doorstep covered in mums and pumpkins. Feel better my friend! Enjoy your fall decorating. Hope it brings you some comfort and joy.

I pay much more attention to styling now. I love the porch that has a table of pumpkins right outside the front door. Looks great but not very practical.

And your photos fit right in with the professional ones. One would never know the difference.

Love all your inspiration photos for Thanksgiving. I decorated for Halloween and am putting away things right now. Almost makes me wish I could just jump on over to Christmas. But I'll stick to my tradtion of doing that Thanksgiving weekend. Your friend's hutch is outstanding. She has the perfect spot for it on that long wall. Oh, and that stone fireplace reminds me of one I saw last night while out trick or treating with the kids. There were people gathered all around it. I immediately came home and added that on my wish list.

Such pretty fall vignettes Nita! I am cooking this year, so yes, I am thinking about my menu, etc. I don't want to cook too much and stress myself out. One thing is we won't have to drive anywhere to have Thanksgiving, so that is a blessing! ~Hugs, Patti

I was shocked that those were your pics from Shannon's house! It looks amazing, and the picture taking was very pottery barnish!! Not ready yet for T-day, but getting there. Gotta take down the outside umbrellas before more snow returns. I just filled the bird feeders and lo and behold, I just saw my first squirrel dining there...grrr

I remember that hutch and it is something serious. I am cooking wild rice and mushroom casserole. It is very rich but good. Also some dessert and we are going to Joe's brother's house.

Such gorgeous images!!! I love the American Thanksgiving, we will have roasted chicken, we observe both the American and Canadian thanksgiving, with me being a citizen of both countries! My hubby is Canadian.

Very pretty. I especially love the first photo and that wreath! Unfortunately, I need for people to be able to come to my front door. It just wouldn't be the same with a pathway up the middle!

btw, I'm headed to your neighborhood next week for my college reunion. It's over on the NW side of town too! I can't wait!

Great inspiration, Nita! I have done the same thing in our home. I have enough to serve ten without totally clearing out my Welsh cupboard. But my table never looks so pretty!!!

I love the photo of the hallway looking out onto the courtyard. Simple, yet stunning!

Love the photos and I agree, yours are just as beautiful as the professional ones. I could not tell the difference!
Cool hutch but I totally do NOT get it. I mean the buying "extra" deal.
Oh well, if it makes her happy that is all that matters. More power to her.
Personally I am striving to be Less is More so you see way that boggles my mind. It's very beautiful though, and nice to see someone go the extra mile. :)
Can't wait to see your Fall decorations!
XOXO - Cindi

Great Thanksgiving pins. How did you get your pins to come out so clear on your blog? Mine are just too blurry to use. I'm going to pop over and check out your boards:)
