Open House Sunday

Hipster House
built 1925
Small bungalow in Oklahoma City.
Seems just a basic little house on the outside.
But obviously if you live here...you have an instant hip vibe as the current owners illustrate.
A perfect hipster life awaits you if you purchase this home.
Very nice typical bungalow style fireplace and built ins.
The man of the house is well read and enjoys his pipe.
A well worn leather chair provides ample reading and reclining space.
Oh...if only I had a man this cultured.
Wine tastings in the dining room. Perhaps I'd have a man like this if I had dreadlocks.
I'll think about this.
It's a nice little dining room. Of course I like their buffet.
The couple strikes a pose.
I really like the kitchen in this house.
That tile is very pretty but I would have preferred white subway tile.
I love the old cabinets.
A wine bar of course!
I like the claw foot tub and the original mirror in this bath.
Lots of space for hipster jr. to play.
Hmmmm...master bedroom...not cool at all. But it just needs new bedding and curtains.
I really like this bath. That shower curtain is fun.
Notice the legs on the sink are red. That is original and I like it.
Another claw foot tub and another built in medicine cabinet.
I like this room best....the little girls room.
Seems I usually like the little girl's rooms best in houses I see.
There is a greenhouse out back which could come in handy for weekend city farmers.
See how green she is!
This is a very Green Acres sort of pose.

What do you think of this real estate listing?
Do the home owners in the listing make you like the house more or less?

I think they make you remember and notice a house that might easily be forgotten when
browsing through MLS listings.

I kind of like it!

See the full listing here.

Cute little house. I actually kind of liked seeing the owners in the photos, but I liked your commentary on them even more. :)

Love the listing...goes against all real estate advice, but I think it is a great marketing idea! Also, love the price!

Hmmm. I don't know.
and I've looked at it several times.
It's kinda cute and quirky but...
ok, I don't like it at all.
sorry.
The living room floors remind me of my own awful floors.
I felt that the front steps needed to be repainted or at least touched up and if they couldn't do that, well, how well has the rest of the house been maintained?
maybe I'm just grumpy today but I'd but more energy into the house than trying to make it look like a magazine ad.
so it's a definitely thumbs down for me.

Oh, I think this couple really sells it! They are giving people an "experience". No one will forget them. And for the listing price I can see some energetic young couple or young single taking on this bungalow. It reminds me of a neighborhood in East Nashville where the young people are moving and fixing up the derelicts into charming cottages, close to town and all the nightlife and being able to walk to stores.

I say they hit the right note!

Okay, it's "fun" and "different". But a bit twee and self-aware, as so very many hipsters are . . . rather than being "ironic", which we all know is the entire point of embracing hipsterhood.

The house has its good points (bathrooms, kitchen) and lots of "meh". It will sell to another family much like their own.

I just want to say, the painted fireplace is a travesty to those of us who adore bungalows. It's like removing vintage tile (in near mint condition) or granite and stainless running amok in the bungalow kitchen. Please make it stop.

Very funny! And unforgettable, I agree. I wonder what they are growing out there...
