Vintage Bathroom

Not!
so pretty...
the details
an arch over the tub!

But it's new, not old.

This is the bathroom of

Sue at
Go to her blog by clicking on her banner above to see the complete reveal.
I love the way she put in all new tile but it looks vintage.
I wish my bathroom had all this tile.

This is a wonderful renovation.
Sue writes that she originally wanted to keep the original turquoise tile they found
under the wall board but it wasn't possible.
It was too badly damaged.

I think she did a fantastic job of recreating a vintage bathroom.
Don't you?

Nicely done. I think it all hinges on the black bullnose and band and the floor. They look very authentic.

Oh, that is just gorgeous - I love the private little nook feeling for the tub - ohhhh, to have a place like that to hide-a-way!!!!

Hi Nita,
I think Sue did a really great job too. I too would love that new tile in our downstairs tiny bathroom (it needs a lot of work) in this old house. I don't know her, so I'll check out her blog later this pm, thank you.

I had to come by & tell you how you made me smile this morning with your comment and information about the heart with cherub. After I read your comment, I pulled my heart off the wall. I knew I had left the price tag on it but didn't remember I had written on the back. I purchased it at the "One of a Kind" shop and know I mentioned it was in Disneyland. My writing also says "purchased September 1994". It has the stamp Hayes Parker on the back, I assume that's where your sister worked. This heart means a lot to me, Nita, as it was my daughter's first trip to Disneyland and the whole trip carries many memories for us and this is the one thing that we can actually touch from our time there.

Thanks for taking the time to let me know more. Can't wait to see your other items from this lovely Hayes Parker. So sad a place that manufactured such nice quality pieces is no longer in this country.

Have a great day, you made the start of mine delightful!

I absolutely love it! Every detail, every tile. I almost wish my house would lend itself to that type of 'renovation'. It's perfect. HollyM

That is fantastic, Nita! What Sue did to her bathroom proves that vintage styles will never be out of vogue. The tiles and the chandelier that she used stand out. I imagine it would be relaxing to cool down on that bathtub. Actually, now that I’ve thought about it, that tile design can also be used in the kitchen and can be matched with white marble or Formica as the countertops.
