Whew! We made it to spring! Spring is my favorite time of the year.

Pinks and turquoise and all those colors above make me very happy.

I was so busy last week with the new job that I totally missed out on celebrating St. Patrick's Day

and the first day of Spring. 

But that is ok, soon things will be on track for me.

Let's take a look at the things linked up last week that knocked me out...

 First, a new blogger linked up with her little 1928 cottage. 

Kassie of A Couple of Pounds wowed

me with her colorful living room and it's modern and vintage touches.

Look at the color of that tile on the fireplace! I see several items from good ol' Pier 1.

Above all is a fabulous wedding cake chandelier which is original to the house. 

Just look at this sweet little spring banner made by Darrielle of DD's Cottage and Design!

She shares how to make your own on her blog.

Tanya at Twelve O Eight is busy making Easter treats already.

Aren't these too cute? Love the candy grass. 

Suzanne of Simply Suzannes shared spring touches and lots of green around her house.

I'm crazy for that green china. I had a lady come in Pier 1 one time with this china in turquoise.

She said she bought it at TJ Maxx. Which means you might find it at HomeGoods too.

Now this next group I could not resist because they all had a common theme.

Let's see if you can guess what it is.

 Angela of Number Fifty Three got a new rug and gave it a review.

Looks like someone else gave it two paws up too!

Always good to have the official kitty paw seal of approval.

Here's another little putty cat that is enjoying something new in the house.

Abby of Abby's Way made herself a pretty ruffled tablecloth.

 It's kitty approved.

Anne of Design Dreams by Anne showed off her guest bedroom makeover 

which included this Simply Shabby Chic bedding from Target.

 It was 100% kitty approved too!

Weren't these all the sweetest of cats? Almost makes me want one...almost.

I would if I didn't have four crazy weenies.

Open House Sunday

Tudor Cottage in OKC

built 1929

This cottage is not too far from my own. It's not in my neighborhood it's just north of me.

It's on a street near Crown Heights but it's not actually in Crown Heights and it's 

price reflects that. If it was in Crown Heights it would be about $40,000 more.

That said...it's on a very nice street.

I actually took photos of this house a few years ago because their flower boxes are gorgeous.

That's it above in full bloom in the middle of summer.

The living room sports a great vintage art tile fireplace.

I'm not in to leather furniture at all but people love it and I'm sure I'll be selling lots of it soon.

Wish I didn't have to. I'm against any animal by products in my home.

This room needs some help in the decorating department. 

I do like the beginnings of a plate wall in the dining room.

Of course I love that desk...that sort of thing is right up my alley but not that wallpaper!

 All is redeemed when you see the kitchen. 

It's very cute.

 I wish my own kitchen was this shape. 

I think this is a very nice layout for a small kitchen.

I love these big hall built ins. I so wish my own house had this. 

It would solve so many problems for me.

I really kind of like this bed. Perfect for leaning back and reading a book.

I'm surprised there is carpet in this room.

 

Very cute vintage look bath. That is not the original floor or sink or toilet.

And I don't care for bead board in these homes. 

They would have had tile originally on the wall, not bead board.

So I wouldn't do this. But it does look nice.

 This is a fun bedroom. Notice the stencil on the back of the bookshelves?

Nice covered back deck. I wish I had something like this over my own deck. 

Looks like wisteria is growing up on it. 

This will be very pretty later in the spring.

backyard could use some trees and landscaping

I do like that little tree by the garage. 

Look at that massive wisteria vine on the arbor!

I'm off today. 

I finished up my training for the new job on Friday and I start the real stuff

this coming week. 

I got the weekend off before the official job starts.

That is good.

The weenies didn't know what hit them last week because I had to get up so early every day.

Poor puppies. 

Starting next week my schedule will change daily. 

One good thing...when I drive home each day I will drive past the OKC Farmer's Market.

This week...they were putting out all the flowers and shrubs. 

I'll be tempted to stop every day to buy stuff for the yard!

I feel like I haven't been here in ages. In actuality it's only been a couple of days.

I've just been super busy with the new job.

This week it's every day and homework at night. 

Hopefully, next week things will even out and I'll know when I have extra time.

 So today I thought I'd show some of my favorite pieces of furniture

saved on my Pinterest Pretty Furniture board.

I started thinking about how much I love furniture this color because

at my new store...my favorite pieces in the store are this color!

I'll show photos soon.

If I don't sell them first. 

I'll be happy to sell them cause I won't be buying them...

cause I already have a table, a cabinet and

a foot stool in this color. 

That doesn't mean I'll never have another piece in aqua...it's just I don't need it.

Of course I'm a big fan of this sort of buffet. I have one myself but this one is especially pretty.

I usually don't really like furniture painted two tone like this...but this piece?

Well, it's perfection.

That little turquoise terrarium on top. You can get that at Hobby Lobby.

This one is the perfect color and the perfect finish...very similar to my own cabinet.

Perhaps a little more turquoise-y but yummy just the same.

So at the new job...there is lots of transitional furniture.

But my favorites are the rugged to shabby pieces or industrial pieces.

Two of my favorites are one, a large chippy rugged aqua colored sideboard 

with a big slab of white carrara marble on top.

Oh...it's good.

and two a large apothecary chest in the same color with library type drawer pulls.

It's big though...it would never fit in my house.

We also have some furniture made from recycled wood.

I love those pieces too.

Most of the furniture at my new job is quite large.

Most of it won't fit in my house.

I think that is probably a good thing.

No, I know it's a good thing.

I don't need furniture but it would be tempting to bring home if it was the right size for my place.

Two more days of training and then I'll find out if I'm going to enjoy the new job...really.

Or, I guess I won't know the first day....but will have a better idea.
