Vintage Bathrooms

 via
I love vintage bathrooms. Especially ones with old tile.
Love that this one still has it's original sink, tile, toilet, medicine cabinet and lights!
 via
I love a sink with legs. Brass and marble...yummy.
Oh, this art deco bathroom with lime green tile makes me swoon.
I'm betting that is not the original sink, though.
 via
This bathroom has a European feel. Love, love, love this marble sink with chrome legs.
Love the tile in this bathroom and the little bamboo table next to the sink.
Note to self...install one of those retractible armed mirrors in my bathroom...immediately.
Yep I need to find one of those.
This bathroom is just super great. Classic vintage finishes but it has modern touches too.
Notice....same mirror attached to wall?

So I painted my cabinet the other night.
The paint did not chip at all.

My fault I mixed it with some other paint and I prepared the surface of the cabinet too well.
That paint stuck tight.

So now I am sanding it.

It will be pretty.
It's just not going to be a spontaneous - oh look what happened! finish.
It's going to be a contrived over worked finish.

I'm sure it will still be nice.

Photos to come.

Hi Nita. The first image with the pink sink, I immediately decorated in my head with the palest pink walls. I think that aqua and pink combination is so so pretty. Then the blue and white tile one blew me away. I want to run out and get tiles like that as I'm on such a blue kick lately! Great images. Have a wonderful weekend!

So many people rip out these old beauties but I love the old tile. Sometimes you get some clunker colors but so many times they are full of charm. Thanks for sharing...happy Friday!

I love vintage bathrooms, especially if they're in pristine condition like the ones you've shown. Those pull out mirrors are available at IKEA for just a few dollars. I've got a few of them in my house and they're so handy!

Wow, those are some amazing vintage bathrooms, love each of them in their own way, but the second one and the last one are my favorites! That lime green Art Deco bath is to die for, even though I'm not a fan of that shade of green, it's remarkably well-preserved and appears to have all the period details correct. Only problem is a lady could never do her makeup in a room that color, it would skew the ambient color and you'd end up putting on too much reds and pinks - the reflection of that lime green would make a girl look like a corpse!

First of all, wouldn't that blue bathroom be gorgeous if the sink had brass legs? It is already beautiful, but I think that would be stellar. Regarding the mirror. I bought a nice one years ago at Restoration Hardware. It's the best thing I ever done for my bathroom!! Seriously could not function without it. I have a non-lighted one, the lighted ones are just too bulky in my opinion.

Great collection Nita! You can find a very inexpensive version of the mirror at Ikea. I think mine cost 5.99? There are a bunch of them out there that are more expensive. I think I saw one at Bed Bath & Beyond the other day. I'm finding I like European style bathrooms. I dream of a bathroom where I can't touch everything in the room when I stand in the middle of it!

I like # 2 and 4 very much. Good luck with your sanding. I'm sure it'll be very pretty.

Love these, especially the blue and white because it reminds me of Portugal.

I'll bet your piece looks fabulous!
