Mod Mix Monday #191

 via
Isn't this a pretty bathroom?
I love that cabinet, the mirror, the big metal sink bowl and faucet.
And I think that vintage modern sconce keeps the whole thing from being too sweet.
Notice the shelves are packed with colorful ever so used stuff?
Somehow even that jumble of stuff looks good.
I'd totally embrace this cabinet in my own bathroom.

Sorry, I've been a bit out of touch of late. I'll explain this week.
So...I'm only now sharing my favorites from Mod Mix Monday of two weeks ago....
Shall we start?
Kris of Junk Chic Cottage made over her dining room chairs by adding ruffles to the seats.
Aren't they precious?
Just look at this pretty white on white dining room!
Tabatha of Chic by Tab painted a little dresser with Miss Mustard Seed's Milkpaint in Kitchen Scale.
I have some of this paint here at the house and really need to put it to work.
She took a ugly dresser and turned it into a jewel.
Cecelia of My Thrift Store Addiction visited a wonderful little store
and this was the first thing she spotted.
A cute way to display photos and sheet music used as placemats.
Terrific idea!
Mary of Orphans with Makeup outdid herself with is antique buffet done in a spring green.
She styled it with herbs in little aged pots.
Love it so!
Su of Butterfly and Bungalow shared her potting shed / craft studio.
I so wish I had this sort of space. She has made the most of a tiny spot.
Patti of Old Things New shared photos from a Southern Garden Tour.
Lots of inspiration here. I love that porch space.
Patti (Old Things New) also paid tribute to Snoopy Girl a member of their family that they
had to say good bye to recently.
Look at that smiling beautiful face! You can just tell Snoopy Girl was a remarkable dog!

Vintage Bathrooms

 via
I love vintage bathrooms. Especially ones with old tile.
Love that this one still has it's original sink, tile, toilet, medicine cabinet and lights!
 via
I love a sink with legs. Brass and marble...yummy.
Oh, this art deco bathroom with lime green tile makes me swoon.
I'm betting that is not the original sink, though.
 via
This bathroom has a European feel. Love, love, love this marble sink with chrome legs.
Love the tile in this bathroom and the little bamboo table next to the sink.
Note to self...install one of those retractible armed mirrors in my bathroom...immediately.
Yep I need to find one of those.
This bathroom is just super great. Classic vintage finishes but it has modern touches too.
Notice....same mirror attached to wall?

So I painted my cabinet the other night.
The paint did not chip at all.

My fault I mixed it with some other paint and I prepared the surface of the cabinet too well.
That paint stuck tight.

So now I am sanding it.

It will be pretty.
It's just not going to be a spontaneous - oh look what happened! finish.
It's going to be a contrived over worked finish.

I'm sure it will still be nice.

Photos to come.

Mod Mix Monday #127

Old New Bathroom
A great mix of old and new with a bold wall and floor.
What a great Mod Mix Vintage Mix!

My faves from last week...
Just look at this amazing bed made by Kim over at Living Vintage
The whole master bedroom is a vintage knock out!
Eileen of The Pink Home made over her fireplace.
She covered the old brick with marble.
Isn't it lovely?
Laura of Cottage and Broome shared the last of October's roses.
They are so pretty arranged in her home vignettes.
Denise of Bella Dreams made herself a new dining room chandelier
out of some baskets and wood.
It fits right in with her romantic farmhouse decor.
Rachel of Maison de Pax is always showing up here.
Just look at her new bathroom and you'll know why.
It's a beauty!
I don't usually pick food here but this salad is just my sort of thing.
Suzanne of Simply Suzannes shares the recipe.
The dressing is simple and sounds scrumptious.

Last week's party was small cause I got it up late...and I got this one
up late too.

Oh..well...there was still lots of good things to look at.

On to this week...

Property Brothers?

Bachelorette Pad
I guess I've been missing out.
I happened upon this image the other day
and it made me go Whoa......

Gorgeous bathroom....I clicked through and discovered it came from these guys...
I've never watched because I think they look kind of creepy.
I really think they are the same guy just dressed differently.
So I've never watched then I click on that bathroom and discover this
sweet bachelorette pad they renovated and decorated.
If you click on the link above it will take you to some other before and afters they've done.
Sweet!
Love the little dining room.
I usually don't go for antlers on the wall but in metallic and mixed with flowers?
Oh...I'm digging those!
This sofa makes me want to paint mine.
Darling little kitchen.
I'd like it better with crown molding on the cabinets and subway tile instead of the
small mosaic tile...but still..it's girlie enough.
But that bathroom!
Oh...my!!! I want this bathroom!

Today was not so constructive...I spent it with this man..
John Gidding of "Curb Appeal the Block".
HGTV was having a marathon of "Curb Appeal the Block" and I could not resist.
It was all day and I hadn't seen any of the episodes!
Love that show!
I don't think they are producing it any more which makes me sad.
So today was a total lounge fest.

I should feel guilty...but I don't.

The weenies do this sort of thing every day and they sure don't feel guilty!

Mod Mix Monday #112

Under Shaded Vines
What a wonderful sitting area on a deck.
This area decorated as completely as any living room.
And made all the better by the lush vines growing overhead and the many potted plants.
Isn't this inspiring?
Today I sat out on my deck in my little yellow chair with the weenies all around...
and oh...I didn't want to move.
I could have sat out there all day long under the shade of my little redbud tree drinking ice tea.
Alas, I had things to do and couldn't sit there all day.

- Mod Mix Monday -
Everyone is getting so many summer projects done.
I promise I have some coming up.

Here are my favorite picks from last week's Mod Mix Monday -

Laura of Cottage and Broome showed off her side walkway all a bloom.
What a delightful little garden!
Melissa of Shabby Love painted up an old wash stand and
now it's all fabulous! Isn't it precious?
made this super cute and pretty display for her garden
out of a salvaged frame and flower basket.
Super Cute!
Anne of Design Dreams by Anne got inspired by her new happy colored
shower curtain and quickly made overher entire bathroom based on it's colors.
I fell instantly in love when I first saw this little dresser painted by Shanna of
Pink candy stripes distressed just right. Perfect for a little girl's room.
Kelly of Groovy Green Designs created this Mod made over desk. I love the mix of patterns and colors.
