Villa in Dallas
built 1916
Yes, this house is huge and I usually show smaller houses but this one is so pretty, especially the outside.
I can just imagine this house being spectacular all dressed up for the holidays.
I'd love to see that. Lot's of greenery, white twinkle lights and red bows.
Can you imagine it?
This house really has gorgeous curbside appeal.
I love all the iron details and the big urns.
The woodwork on the inside is equally impressive.
Notice all the columns and paneled walls.
The inside of this house reminds me a little of the American Horror Story Coven House.
Doesn't it? I can imagine it decorated in a similar style.
The furnishings here are very scrumptious...but I can imagine it looking even better
dressed a little less shiny.
Amazing staircase in this home.
Imagine this room in neutrals with more classic furniture.
Love the windows in this room.
Hate the dining room furniture but it's a fantastic room.
Oh...I love that glimpse of the butler's pantry.
Unfortunately this listing does not show the kitchen.
Oh..I'd love to see it. It must not be pretty.
Perhaps it has not be renovated. I'd love to see it especially if it's got old details.
The windows in this house are just fabulous.
Again the furniture is too gaudy. It could be so wonderful.
Cozy master but again hate the homeowner's choice of furniture.
Here's a feminine bedroom complete with vanity.
This bathroom is a wonderful big size. I'm not sure what is going on with that wallpaper.
The colors are nice in this bath but that wallpaper would have to go.
Out back..an ornate formal garden! I love the way the boxwoods are trimmed, encircling and
entwining.

So much lovely detail - wouldn't it be fun to decorate.
Wow! This could totally be a coven house!
I love this home! The exterior is so European and what a fabulous space to decorate! xo Nancy
What a gorgeous house! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Nita, talk about curb appeal wow! This one has it all and has such charm too....wonderful!
Happy Holidays!
It's gorgeous! I especially love the stairs leading to the front door...
Oh, Swiss Avenue! When you come to Dallas we're driving straight over there, it's just down the street a ways. There's a beautiful pink house just one block over! Abby and I used to take the scenic route and drive home that way from school every day. This house is particularly gorgeous, but I'm with you on that furniture -- yuck. Some of these owners snapped these houses up for a little bit of nothing in the 90s, because it's really ghetto nearby and for years the crime was horrible. Much better now. I've been to a party one block over and she had the same horrid furniture, but with more gilding. All the moldings had been painted black and they had gilding too. Hideous. Anyway, what a gorgeous house and garden. I'll go by and see if they have holiday decorations and send you a photo if they do! If we ever thaw out, half of East Dallas is still w/o power.
Lovely home - absolutely dreamy, but I agree with you - I don't like the furniture either. Too stuffy, but it was fun to tour it anyways. I really like the backyard.

Love the house, especially the staircases.
Hate most of the furniture and the hideous skins on the floor.
Seriously how can a dead animal skin be attractive? Gross.
That might be a painted mural in the bathroom instead if wallpaper but still don't like it.
But yes, an amazing house.
A very beautiful house, Nita, i love seeing the homes that you find for us.
I loved the windows, and doors, inside and out.
Hugs, Cindy
Wow! I think I could get use to living there. That is a gorgeous house
Oh wow! Those doors between all the living areas are incredible. And that vanity with the mirrors. Just wow.
Love this house! Thanks for sharing. I agree with you about the kitchen, I would love to see the vintage kitchen. and is that a door knocker on the bedroom door? that's quirky...
Very impressive, it has similarity with European architectural styles. I thought at first, its small but its huge inside. The most beautiful villa I ever seen.

I think I have been in this house! There was a family wedding in 1992 which was held in one of the old oil barons' mansions. This could very well be it. It was furnished in antiques at the time.
