Crepe Myrtles

I have two large crepe myrtles in my backyard that I never trim back except for
the lower branches when they bow down to touch the ground.
They both have gotten quite tall. I'd guess they are over 20 feet tall.
I love the bright pink color that they fill my backyard with in the summer.
Old wisteria vines weave through the tops of the tree.
I need to get up on a ladder and pull them out.
I just love crepe myrtles...don't you?
So easy to care for too.
This year I planted impatiens in my fountain in the same shade of pink.
Franklin likes the pink crepe myrtles.
They match in color his very pink tongue!

Thanks to all of you who commented and wrote to tell me that you were viewing my blog
just fine.

That's a relief!

Also many of you wrote asking where I got my outdoor remote controlled led candles
that I used in my birdcage.
I got them at Pier 1, of course!
They are 20% off this month.
That's them glowing in the birdcage.

Also....I tried to write many of you back and you are now coming up as
No Reply. I bet you don't know that.

I discovered recently after I switched my profile to Google + that I was
coming up as a no reply when I commented on other's blogs.

You'll have to go into your Google + profile and be sure to add your email and
make sure it shows up when you leave a comment.

I hope you have a perfect weekend!

Absolutely beautiful blooms and I adore your yellow chair! Thanks for the info on the remote controlled flameless candles!! I can see Pier One's sign from my front porch ( that is how close I am to one!)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Deb

Crepe myrtles are one of the perks of living in the south! We have them as well, though they are not as mature as yours are....yet! Love the doxie pics- as always :)

Crepe myrtles are a sure sign of summer! Mine is blooming for the very first time. I recently read that if you deadhead, they will rebloom. I'm going to give it a try. But I don't think you can very well get up that high to deadhead. So big and beautiful!

What a beautiful plant! I don't think it will grow here, so I'll appreciate it on your blog!
I haven't made the switch to google + as it seems to require me to appear with my full name, and I'm not willing to do that because of my job. Sometimes I'm unable to comment on the blogs of those who use Google+

Aren't the crepe myrtles glorious this year!! I think they are blooming better than in the past few years with all the rain we have had this summer. I'm enjoying them all over town. I love the shade of pink you have in your garden and your fountain is beautiful!

Crepe myrtles are heavy bloomers across the south and always dependable.

I still have a video box located right above the pictures of your dogs. I saw the name Rivit Media for only a second. It always runs various ads one right after the other and is annoying. Wish I knew how to lose it.

Wow, I've never heard of crepe myrtles. Yours are gorgeous! I love that deep pink color. Impatiens are a staple in our garden every summer. Yours look great in that wondergul fountain.

Good ol' Franklin keeping watch from atop his post! He's adorable!

Wow! Your crepe myrtles are gorgeous! We couldn't possibly grow them here in Ontario, Canada - only the impatiens.

Google + has me totally confused. I added it, but because my google e-mail (which I never use) is attached to our family phone bill which is in Heather's name, so everything came up with her as the acct. holder. I lost everything that I had in my profile...blah blah....anywho....I couldn't figure it out, got mad, and deleted it.
On to the FUN stuff, yes! I love my crepe myrtles. Mine are in my front flower beds, as you walk up to the door, so I keep them trimmed in more of a topiary style. I REALLY am wanting one of the gorgeous RED ones! So rich and yummy, that color. And I may plant it in back and just let it go wild! Thanks for the tip on the candles! I should have guessed Pier 1 Have a lovely Sunday!

The crepe myrtle is spectacular and i actually like the wisteria vines sticking out..kind of an enchanted forest look. I switched to Google plus and have noticed some negative results. I did not check to see if I am noreply so thx for the heads up. Love those remote candles. Might go get some today.

The kind of myrtle that grow where you live is very beautiful and I don't think we have it in France.

Every year when the crepe myrtles are blooming I say, I have to plant one. This year again we have been talking about it. I need to quit talking and make a note for fall planting so I can shut up about it next year and enjoy the blooms. Yours are gorgeous.
Those candles are great too. They closed the Pier One near us about 5years ago.now the closest is almost an hour away.i need to make the trip. Thanks for the google+ advice. I am going to check mine now.

Hi Nita :) I love your crepe myrtles are beautiful, my favorite color .. pink! We don't have any in our yard here in CA, they are around though. We had them in Houston and they are a real show stopper, especially so big and beautiful as yours are! Your fountain is so pretty too, love the pink impatience. Can you make a wreath with that wisteria vine? Franklin is adorable .. sending kisses I think :)
