Open House Sunday

A Stone Cottage in Dallas
built 1926
Today's Open House Sunday home comes courtesy of a MVL reader.
Andrea of Opulent Cottage
Andrea wrote me last week to share photos of a friend and neighbor's home that's for sale.
Actually, there is an open house today from 2 - 4.
Oh...I wish I could be there.

Andrea was very gracious to let me post these images today.

Andrea often shows up here in Mod Mix Monday.
This is an example of one of her Easter displays.
She has lots of great ideas and you should not miss her
copycat posts where she finds an image in a catalog or magazine and
recreates whatever decor it is with odds and ends around her house.
Lots of good ideas there.
Anyway...back to the stone cottage.
Cute awning over the door. Fabulous arched window. The stain glass came from a church in England.
Love that huge hutch.
Great ceiling
All the small pictures around the mirror are very eclectic and charming.
Many things lovingly collected over time in this home.
Such a lovely dining room with another shot of that stain glass from England.
These kitchen floors were originally roof tiles dug from a field in France.
I really love that table used as an island.
Great sink and stove and faucet.
How about the way these beds are made up?
I love those bedspreads.
What a pretty room.
Andrea created many of the bedding pieces and pillows in this home.
A special bathroom.
Love all those windows and the furniture too.
So open and airy.
This cottage has so many pretty details. The path leads to an artist's studio. Oh...that's my dream.
A quaint enclosed backyard
nice deck too
Oh...a side patio on the front too.
Thanks, Andrea for sharing!

Happy Sunday!

This house is so pretty. It looks like each piece was found and selected over time with love. While I love modern and white, I still think this is lovely.
Looks like it could be in a movie.
Thanks for this post!

What a great find! Actually the least appealing aspect is the front facade. The landscaping is not quite right and the front door needs something. I love the interior. It's clear that the homeowner has gathered items over the years to make it a truly inviting and unique home.

Just lovely! Love those traditional, soft colors and furniture.
Nothing painful in her decor...

Oh my gosh, that person used to have a blog of sorts with all kinds of pics of her house. I just love it!! AND we are moving to Dallas...just sold our house yesterday. That little cottage is out of our price range though.

Wouldn't you love to go shopping with her? She has such an eye.
