Mod Mix Monday #47

I'm in the mood for all things garden.
How about breakfast in this garden room?

Here are my favorites from last week's Mod Mix Monday.
Jennifer of Town and Country Living shared her antique mirror collection and lilacs
plus her kitties. Who could resist that kitty under the table?
Kim of Made in a Day shared how to make this cute little lampshade.
Mandy Rose of House of Rose has been tweaking her dining room.
I love the dark walls and that buffet is something special paired with the gallery wall.
The west elm chandelier is the perfect addition too.
Lisa of the Enchanted Oven created this precious little fairy garden in a wheel barrow of all things.
And what would Mod Mix Monday be without a piece of turquoise furniture?
I can't resist them.
CJ of Juniper and Roses transformed an ordinary chest into this dreamy piece of furniture.
And lastly, Ricky Jill of Art @ Home showed off her lovely spring table.
This is a dreamy tablescape. One I'd love to have in my own home.
I have a similar table cloth that I now think I need to sew pom poms on.
Very pretty.

Each week amazes me at what shows up here on my blog.
Thanks so much for making Mod Mix Mondays such a great linky party.

Let's do it again this week....

Link up below.
Remember anything old made over to be new...anything new changed up to look old.
New and old together...
Please include the Mod Mix Monday logo and back link to me.

If you link up..I'd appreciate it, if you'd follow me.

Open House Sunday

A Little Stone Tudor Cottage
with a decidedly feminine vibe.
built 1935
I love this sofa table and those lamps....luv, luv, luv.
The mirror over the fireplace is interesting.
That window is  a WOW!
I'm wondering if it's original? Those tulips make it look like it might not be.
What do you think?
I don't care for zebra rugs real or otherwise but other than that...I like the decor of this room.
Dining room has another wall mirror. This one appears to be even larger.
I love that rugged sideboard paired with the very modern table.
And of course the chandelier is nice.
Not digging that shelf thing in this room.
Very cute kitchen although I don't care for the slate floor.
Wood would have been better.
The art on the wall does not go with the rest of the decor.
I like it...it just doesn't go.
Love the big shiny stove and range hood.
Nice big kitchen.
I wish my own was this large.
Love the chest of drawers and rug.
Bath is pretty all around. I'd prefer more vintage looking sinks however.
But it is very nice.
Looks like the porch has been closed in to make an office.
I'd rather have a garden room or really I'd rather the porch be left open.
But this is a great office.
Nice backyard and deck.
I could live here. If only my own home was fixed up to this extent.
But then I'd have nothing to dream about...then would I?

Wisteria

My wisteria is blooming and growing like crazy.
Since the carport was removed over a year ago....it has really gone wild.
But there is not a place for it to go.
It already covers the fence and support beam.
It's tendrils reach out searching for new heights to climb.
I do wish I had the perfect pergola for it to grow upon.
As it is, I have to trim it way back every summer to keep it under control.

Now, I know why my Grandmother used to get so upset at her neighbor's.
They had wisteria growing on their fence next to my Grandma's house and they never trimmed it.
Every so often my Grandma would go out and cut it to keep it from growing over on
to the roof of her house.
She absolutely hated it.
She said it was a menace.
She said it would pull her house down if she let it.
I thought it beautiful till I lived in that house a little while and experienced how it
did indeed try to come over and take over the house.
It's long tendrils reaching out to grab on to the roof.

I have to say...I'd never plant it near my house.
This is closer than I like.
It's near the garage, planted by a previous owner.
As it is...it takes over my gate so that sometimes I have a hard time getting in and out.
Right now it is swarming with bumble bees.
Which I don't mind. Bumble bees are so big, fat, fuzzy and cute.

My wisteria is very pretty in bloom but rather plain when not blooming.
I wish mine looked like these examples below.
It can be quite amazing.

I wonder if these people realize that one day that wisteria is going to pull their house down.

Do you love wisteria or are you scared off by it's invasive nature?
