She Decorates with Sea Shells
Down by the Sea Shore
Last week I did a post about using Sea Shells in your decor. I focused on fireplaces covered in sea shells which I think is a fabulous idea. At the time, I remembered a home in Austin that I'd seen in a magazine years ago that had sea shells everywhere. But I couldn't find it to show you. Last night when I was searching for other things I happened upon an article about this home. It is on the Traditional Home website.
How precious are those aqua slipper chairs? I adore everything about this room.

Then I found more inspiring uses of shells in interiors.

Hi Nita, Thank you for following my blog and your sweet comments. I had to come see your blog right away! I am following you back and will put you on my blog roll too, as I love your posts.
I love the shell fountain, just gorgeous! My friend and I just got back from a place called the Circle in Olde Towne Orange, we saw lots of shell things but sooooo horribly expensive!!! I think I'll just look for my own:)
That home in Austin is one of my favorites! Did you know that it is owned by Elijah Wood's mother?
I love all of the shell decor! I LOVE SHELLS;)!
Enjoy!

I've been thinking about a shell lamp project and need to get cracking! Thanks for the inspiration!

I am visiting from Maison Decor. She nominated you for lovely blog. I love the shells, I have always wanted to make a big mirror like the one you show, but then I read how one woman did it and they had to reinforce the wall as it was soooo heavy. What a fun post.
I love this post. I think I may have seen this home in Traditional Magazine several years back also. That fireplace is really a beautiful work of art. Recently I've grown more and more fond of seashells in traditional home decor like this. I think I would like having a little here and there. What a gorgeous post, and blog!
I'm following.

So neat...I just clicked on your post about how you met your house. When I saw the pic I immediately thought of the homes in Florence Park here in Tulsa, and lo and behold you're in OK too! Small world. Charming home!
I am dying to a do a shell craft project. Thanks for the inspiration!!
