Mod Mix Monday #138

This is everything a home office should be attractive, stylish and serviceable.
I can just imagine my own i-mac sitting there on the metal industrial desk/shelving unit.
Love the touches of lavender with all the gray metal.

You'd think everyone would be in a winter slump about now, wouldn't you?
But no...everyone is just churning out amazing projects right and left.
Me? When it's cold in my house...it's hard for me to get motivated.
Hey...I did get my Christmas down!
I'll have Valentine stuff this week.

Here are my picks from last week's Mod Mix Monday!
Keya of Vintage Prairie Style added a little life to her winter rooms with plants.
I especially like the instant terrarium she created by turning a glass vase over a vintage clay pot.
Suzanne of Simply Suzannes showed off a lovely arrangement of hydrangeas
mixed with ironstone.
Her pictures are dreamy.
Mary of Boogie Board Cottage made a little silver framed Valentine art.
She glued silver and gold sequins on an old book page.
Doesn't it all make the loveliest Valentine vignette?
Jamie of So Much Better with Age created
a sweet equestrian themed birthday party for her daughter.
Look how pretty the cake is - chocolate sprinkles become a pony.
Scribbler of Scribbler Unfocused has been busy fluffing her house. I adore the tray of chintz ware.
Candy of Plum Creek Place was inspired by this year's Pantone Color of the year - Radiant Orchid.
She dressed a whole table in it and included actual radiant orchids!

It's going to be a snow week here in Oklahoma.

We had snow on Sunday with more to come.
Luckily, I'm off this week and am just going to enjoy my snow days!

Introducing Old New House

New Sponsor

I've got a new sponsor on MVL!
One sure to fulfill some of your Mod Vintage dreams!
You'll see an ad for Old New House over there on my right column under sponsors.

Old New House began in 2010 on Etsy but they've recently started a stand alone online store.

This is a family run business by Melissa and Dave.

With great care and attention to the finest of details.

Melissa and Dave hand select every single antique and vintage piece that you see in their shop.
They also design and craft every new original piece completely in house, and with
their own hands, in New York.

Read their story here.
Out of their New York location this couple handpicks and creates one of a kind, vintage inspired items
for their store.
I've selected below some of my favorites from their current collection.
Handmade pillows made from vintage persian rugs.
Notice the wonderful mid century chairs also for sale in their shop.
Very nice...the real deal...vintage mannequins.
Notice that industrial cart?....they make their very own in miniature.
They have super good antique maps.
The real deal vintage eye charts.
I'm partial to this lamp. It would fit right in my house.
A quirky vintage eye chart...notice it says "No Smoking" over and over and over?
Here is one of their miniature industrial carts.
This one perfect for hauling around your ereader or ipad.
I can't resist this shabby one..see the little dachshund wrapping paper?
Look at the real working details!
What a great place to rest your iphone!

Since this Old New House is a new sponsor...
of course we are doing a giveaway.

Mod Mix Monday #115

Do you like capiz shells? I do in the right setting and these seem pretty perfect here.
I love the white on white of this room and the dark floor.

Here we are now at Mod Mix Monday #115.
Each week I find this party to have a really high quality of entries.

Here we go with my favorites from last week...
Kim of Reposhture Studio really got her creative juices flowing on this one.
Never mind the cute little dresser she painted here....what I think is brilliant are her accessories!
Little cartoon illustrations! They are so whimsical and I'd be tempted to just have them up all the time
not just for a photo shoot.
Michelle of New England - Style showcased the coastal bedroom she created in a vintage home.
Oh...I'd love to vacation in this calm lovely bedroom.
Rachel of Remastered Relics painted a coffee table in a great blue color and painted the top
in chalkboard paint. Super cute...isn't it?
Ann Marie of Twice Lovely painted an old vanity in a vintage industrial style.
I love the metallic paint and the fun knobs.
Great combo for sure.
Rachel of Maison de Pax made herself a roman shade using mini blinds.
I love the way she painted them!

There were some favorite garden themed entries too...I'll show them tomorrow.
