Dining Room Inspiration

Today, I finally got a day off from work and I'm making things for my Thanksgiving tablescape.
Hope to show tomorrow.
In the meantime, I thought I'd show some of my favorite dining rooms from my
That one above is decked out for a sweet little Birthday party.
I want a birthday party that looks like that.
That will be my goal for next year.
I'll have to do it for myself but that is ok...I'd love to throw myself a party like that.
I love everything about this room even though it's got lots more wood than I normally go for.
Ok, I might change out the light fixture for a chandelier. Yes, I'd definitely change that out.
A big pretty mirror is always an asset in the dining room.
Wow! I love that table. Isn't it hugely fantastic!
I love how warm this room is.
The chandelier and the rustic china cabinet make this dining room.
Sweet little rosemary topiaries. Love that they have little twig trellises.
Love the wall treatment too.
Why can't I be simple like this?
I've been craving a simplified Xmas decor...
but I know I'll get all my pretty vintage stuff out again this year.
Ok, this is the thing I'm obsessed about currently.
That bench with slipcover.
I have a long ottoman like that in my office which originally was intended as footstool
and storage but it's just always in the way and I stack stuff on it.
It needs to go and I realized it was just the right height to be used as seating in my dining room.
A quick search of Pinterest and I found some wonderful examples
of slipcovered ottomans used in dining rooms.
I am so doing this.
Here's another.
I think it will add a softness to my dining room that the room needs.

Ok, I'm going back to my creating now.
So fun to be home on a beautiful fall day!

Chair Covers

Illusion
Love these chair covers. You could take any plain chair and make it special.
I'm running around today taking care of stuff that is really stupid but makes life complicated.
Basically it involves a warrant out for my arrest.
Yep...you read that right.
A warrant out for my arrest.
My tag was expired.
I got pulled over back in June after visiting a friend late at night at the hospital.
I was on a deserted road because I'd missed my exit and was trying to find my way
back to the highway.
Here comes flashing lights...I guess I looked suspicious.
So they laid a huge ticket on me.
I got the tag a week later but didn't go to the court date because I was working.
So then last Friday I get a letter saying there is a warrant out for my arrest.

I warned everyone at work that if the police come in and drag me out - that it's only over a ticket.
I'm not a criminal....but then again, I guess I am.

Anyway...I just called the court and they say if I come in and talk to the judge tomorrow
and show my receipt...he may let me off.

I hope so.
I always get myself in fixes like this because I don't take care of things immediately.

My Mom asked me one time if I did drugs.
Nope, I wish I had that to blame.

Life is hard.

So if you don't hear from me for awhile...I'm in the slammer....the big house....the cooler.

Ruffle Chair

Score!.....sort of
See this chair?
I have wanted it forever from Pier 1.
Like several years.
It is actually a slipcover over a chair they sell.
Originally this cover was $70 and the chair $199.
I could not afford that of course...besides I didn't need a chair.

So, I'm looking through local markdowns the other day and find that one of our
stores has this slipcover marked down to $9.98!

I raced to get it.
I thought it would fit my office chair.
Alas...it doesn't. It is just too tight on the back.

Am I crazy to keep it in hopes of finding the perfect chair it will fit?
By the time I find it, will I be tired of this fabric?

Here is what the fabric looks like...
It's just too cute to take back.
Surely, I can find something to do with it.

It looks great with my sofa.
The chair this slips over is now $150...still too much...considering that I still don't need a chair.

I just wanted it to slide over my office chair and transform it.

pooh!
oh well...

I was on a bargain shopping roll on Friday.
I went to a flea market at the County Fairgrounds in Norman, OK.
My sister has a booth there where she sells jewelry she makes.
I bought a few things including a bracelet and earrings from my sis.

I had a pretty good time finding some things for little money.
I bought lots of doilies for 50 and 25 cents each so I can make one of these runners.
I also bought a china gravy boat that will mix well with my miscellaneous rose china.
An old bottle came home with me too that will be used for a craft project.
I know...old bottles don't sound like me but you'll see soon what I'll do with it.
