Paint...Paint...Paint

Till I Lose My Mind
This is what I've been doing this week.
I don't think this is ever going to end.
I knew painting all these chairs was going to be bad...but this is taking way
longer than I thought.
I'm hoping tomorrow I can start painting the real paint..so far this is just primer.
See there on the floor the chandelier that is waiting to go up in the space?
So good news is...I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow.
So I'm just going to be working on these and playing opera really loud in the house.
Dogs will be going in and out all day. They don't really like opera.

I think I can have the chairs done by end of day Saturday...maybe sooner.
The table and buffet should be easier.....at least I'm hoping.
There are projects piled around in this room.
So many to get to and I can't do any of them till this monster one is done.

Now I know why people paint with spray painters.
I've painted furniture before which is why I knew it would take awhile to do so many pieces but
right now I feel like this is the never ending story.

Have you seen this new blog?
click on logo to go there now

What a great idea this blog is.
You'll find photos of rooms using different paint colors and they are labeled as to what color and brand.
What a great starting point when trying to decide the right color for your latest project!
Here are a few room color examples you'll find there.
Oyster Bay by Sherwin Williams

Camouflage by Benjamin Moore

Gentle Tide by Glidden

Ashley Gray by Benjamin Moore

You can submit any room and paint color for inclusion.
I think this is going to be such a useful resource, don't you?

Chairs take forever. Spraying is so much faster, but we don't all have that luxury. The chairs have such nice lines they will Look wonderful when you are done. Hang in there. The table and buffet will totally be quicker.

Oh dear, I can see why those chairs would take a long time - so many grooves but I think they are going to look fabulous.
Can't wait to see the finished product. I couldn't really see the chandelier but I haven't had breakfast yet so it's probably just me :)

Chairs are such a bear to paint. I like to spray the primer on and then brush the top. They've got great bones though--they'll look amazing, I'm sure and it will be all worth it!

Those are going to be BEAUTIFUL!!!! Oh I have so many things to paint, do you think we would ever start if we knew in advance how much more work it wa going to be?!?!?! It helps for me to be a bit naive as I begin, then of course it MUST get finished... you aren't procrastinaing like I am : ) Looking forward to seeing your results!!! Happy Painting!

I want to paint my dining room chairs and know it is going to be a pain. My chairs have more parts than yours. Ugh. I have seen that blog. She contacted me and asked to use a couple of my rooms for the colors. I am trying to decided on a new color for the kitchen and this is a great resource for ideas.

keep painting Nita, and it will be a distant memory as you get to style the room and play with the fun part of it all. I can't wait to see it, the primer is always the longest part of any job. Thanks for the new blog on color~it is a great idea.

Your comment on Emily Henderson cracked me up! I am so with you on the House Hunter running all week long... it literally got me off of HGTV as well. Anyways, couldn't help but to check out your blog. :) Can't wait to see how these chairs will turn out!

Thank you for your sweet comments on my entryway project. It looks like you are in the middle of your own project! Painting is such a major chore but I bet your chairs will look beautiful once they are done! And I am loving that new website! I am heading over there right now....

I love how furniture looks 'after' being painted but I do not enjoy the process of painting it. It requires a lot of patience but you know, it will be so worth it in the end! I've been working on one piece of furniture for weeks now and it's still not completed!

I know your pain! I did my dining room tables and their legs look similar to yours. All of the noks and crannies are endless! When spring comes and it is warmer out I will be putting more coats on because I STILL see spots I missed! It is neverending... I love the lamps in the background by the way... :))

I hope your painting is going well today and that you can see the finish line! I have SO many things to paint but I'm waiting for it to be a little bit warmer so that I can have my windows open while I do it!
Thanks (? LOL!) for the new blog info! (I am following SO many because of YOU!) but it will definitely help me with my indecision!

Nita I've painted a lot of furniture in my house and yes I can say chairs are the worst and the most time consuming. I can't wait to see everything finished, I know it will look beautiful!! Martina
