Calm Interiors
These images make me want to scrap all the color in my house.

I have white on the brain as I continue to paint my dining room furniture.
Chairs are done and now I'm working on the buffet.
I'm trying to decide if I will lightly distress it or heavily distress it.
I'm kind of leaning toward heavy distressing.
This would be an example of heavily distressed.
This buffet is very similar to mine and
is in the home of one of my neighbors.
She is actually using it as a changing table in her nursery.
You can see the whole home in this post.
It's definitely worth clicking over and seeing if you haven't already.
But I might do it lightly distressed like I do most of my pieces.
I just can't decide.
Don't forget I have a giveaway going on through Friday, March 18.

I am loving neutrals and white, too. Heavily distressed would look great!
I can't wait to see your dining room reveal! Whatever you decide about the distressing I know it will be gorgeous!
That might be the coolest changing table I've ever seen! I'm drooling over the mirror as well. We decided to go mostly all white in this house and I'm still loving it. I am tend to run on the high energy hyper side so I like the soothing feeling of a more monochromatic living space.
dear nita,
ok, just when i have decided my place needs some color you post this. ugh. what is a girl to do? these interiors are so peaceful looking. omg, i'm so confused. thanks.
i lean toward lightly distressing your furniture. you can live with it for awhile and then if you want go back later and do some more.
that's my opinion but i have no idea what i'm talking about.

lovely images. my fav is the bath! happy new week
I love neutrals, but I have to have my pops of color. That's why I like the first picture best because it is neutral, but it also has pretty soothing colors in it, too.
All the pictures are gorgeous, though.
Hi Nita, I think you should distress as much as it would look right in your space. I will be excited to see it. I love neutrals too and the longer I was exposed in blogland the more the color left my home...
Hi Nita, the second and third picture took my breath away;..OMG so gorgeous..there is something to be said about a home/room done entirely in neutrals, it then becomes about texture and just a pop here or there with a little wood. Really stunning. Love the idea of a distressed finish.....somewhere in the middle, that way if you want more you can go for it......always best to start with a little and work your way down the ladder...good luck and have fun!
I'm drooling over that amazing fireplace!!
Very smoothing and relaxing photos! Just what I needed after posting bold pops of green over at my place. I'm overdosing on green this week. It's always nice to rest the eyes with neutrals.
I love the third photo with floor-to-ceiling windows. I think it would even be worth the PITA it would to keep them clean because I love to have natural light streaming into my home!
You know after reading everyone's comments, I looked through the photos again and as I knew last night the first photo is my absolute favorite of the group and its the one with the most color! So yes...I'll be keeping some color in my house. But I love white furniture so much....I can't help myself. I always have. When I was a kid, I painted all the furniture in my bedroom white and had fantasies of painting the woodwork on my parents victorian sofa white. If only I'd done it...I would have beat Rachel Ashwell to the punch by twenty years! I'd be a rich girl now. Ok....I'm going back to my painting.....
a changing table.....a CHANGING TABLE!?
OMG! I must have missed that in that post!
OK, I back now... I went back to that post and now I want her BEDROOM!
AAAAAHHHH!!!!
Don't ask me, I'll change my mind in an hour anyway.
But I'm sure whatever you will do will be lovely!
oooh....you´ve got some great pictures there....jumping on my chair right now *lol*
