Bright Pastels

Happy Colors
I'll admit it...I LOVE pastels! Especially bright ones
I'd be so happy living in these spaces with these lively bright colors.
The bright green against the aqua walls is amazing!
And I don't usually like green very much. (except outside - love it outside)
I don't like different colored walls as a rule either but here...it's wonderful.
Oh...I'd love this room for an artist studio slash green house!
Which by the way...I've been doing some canvas painting.
I'll share soon.
This room is an example that you can still have bright pastels without saturating the room.
I'd be more likely to do this sort of room.
But after the others it seems kind of boring.
And the bits of bright pastels in this room really make it.
It would be dull without them.

Do you like bright pastels in a room?
Of course I love them at Easter time. Really I love them any time.

I did have a bright yellow rug with big pink flowers in my living room.
Because I was going to embrace bright pastels..but I grew to hate it.
I think I just put the bright in the wrong place.
I searched for photos of the rug but by the time I started this blog...I was already so sick of it,
I barely showed it.
Here is another little bit of it.
Then I just realized with my covering of my new ottoman in this fabric...
I'm totally headed back that way again.
I do love them!
Although I think this has enough brown and beige in it to ground it in the room.
I guess you love what you love and it always works it's way back into your decor.

Mod Mix Monday #92

Blue Hint
Oh...this is a pretty view from one room to another.
I love the wallpaper seen through the doorway in the dining room.
The blues in the first room hint at what is to come.
I think everything is pretty wonderful about this decor except....
I'm not a fan of that rug and that low bench thing.
It's just weird.
The painted floor is pretty and it's not painted in the next room and it looks good!
I don't like the cowhide draped on the modern chair either but everything else....
I think is just awesome including the wallpaper.
Well, that's my opinion and it's my blog so I can give my opinion.
What would you change in the room...if anything?

On to this week's favorites from last week's Mod Mix Monday party!
Ok, this is aDORable!
Kim of Made in a Day did a knock off of a stool she saw at Pier 1.
Her version is sooooo much better!
And this is so easy to do.
Go check it out!
Chateau Revivals shared their latest furniture makeover.
You will not believe how ugly the "before" was.
The "after" is is streamlined and luscious.
Melissa of Daisy Mae Belle made this cute burlap and twine frame.
You can just clip your photos to the twine.
Or whatever you wish...it could be little bits of anything.
What a pretty memory board this would be!
Ok, so there isn't really anything mod about this at all...but I loved it.
Deb of Lavender Garden Cottage shared several photos of her styling
of this wonderful vintage bench.
When her cats weren't sleeping on it..she made some beautiful vignettes.
This one was my favorite.
Danielle of Finding Silver Pennies freshened up a friends coffee table by
painting it with some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
I'd have a hard time giving it back once I made it look this good.

On to this week....
My goodness this year is flying by...

I always say...
"Time flies even when you aren't having fun!"

But this year is really going fast...because so far...I am having a very nice year.

Share your Mod Mixes for this week below.
Remember anything old made over to be new...anything new changed up to look old.
New and old together...

Spanish Cottage
in Los Angeles
pretty details to this cottage under a red tile roof

I like the two matching sofas facing each other in the room

Seems there are mirrors in almost every room of this house.
mirror 1
I always like those niches above the fireplace opening in these type of fireplaces
These home owners have answered the question of what to put in it?
A buddha head!
mirror 2
original sconces are throughout this home
great built in, in this room
mirror 3
nice little office
Notice the tuba on the wall holding flowers.
bright white small kitchen
very classic with the tile counters
and I always love a wall mount faucet

sweet breakfast nook
I always like chairs in that style and they are cute mixed with that table.
Love the built in, in this room.
great view to the yard
mirror 5
There's a little nook under the stairs.
This is a sweet little room.
Ok, this is a very boring bath.
Just shows how much a shower curtain can do.

The house from the backside...it's much larger than it appears from the front.
