Mod Mix Monday 16

Interesting Mix
I would never buy these things and yet I love how they all look together.
It's all about the mix. I would never look twice at that black patent leather ornate bench
but it is the perfect compliment to the other items in this room.

I've had a hard week with the blog piracy thing and no matter how much I say
I am moving forward and getting over my heart break...
it's physically not happening.
I'm still very sad. So much so, that I went to the doctor and got on anti-depressants.
Yep, I'm telling all. I just cannot be this sad for a long time.
I'll let you know if my mood lifts.
I discovered I can get a generic brand of Celexa at Walmart for only $4.
That means you can be poor and still get some help.
Which is what I needed.
(good to know if anyone out there is struggling with depression)

Ok, now on to what I loved last week in Mod Mix Monday.
Courtney at French Country Cottage had another great idea this past week.
Little fancy chalkboards made from thrifted frames.
Tattered and Timeless created a lovely big chalkboard out of an antique dresser mirror.
Laurie at House to Your Home painted a little table in a chevron pattern.
It's MOD now...that's for sure...but lets just say it chevron is
zig zag.....just like Charlie Brown's shirt and rick rack.
I don't know why everyone is so impressed by zig zag these days.
Although I do like this table.
and I had to include this one because I personally love this kind of furniture.
A very pretty makeover by Uniquely Chic.

I promise I'm really going to try to get some new posts going this week.
I'm trying...but knowing I should and being able to do it are two entirely different things.

Now link up your mixes for this week below.

I want to see anything new mixed with something old.
Antique and Modern side by side.
Something old made to be new or something new made to look old.
Vintage and Modern going hand and hand.

Please link to your project post not to your entire blog.

Open House Sunday 19

In Oklahoma City
Built 1929
(see listing here)
This one I've actually been in a couple of times.
It's a duplex that was completely redone several years ago.
A friend of mine lived in one side for awhile.

You enter into a covered hallway with a doorway to each home opposite each other.
Each side mirrors the other.
Two exact copies.
Each side has a fireplace like this.
Up some steps to the dining room. A deck is off the french doors in the dining room.
I love that feature.
Each side has a matching kitchen.
I would have chosen other finishes but you can't deny this is nice.
Each side has a staircase leading to bedrooms upstairs.
and overly decorative bathrooms
Still very nice. I could live here.
So I said a friend of mine lived here for awhile and then another friend of mine
wanted to buy it for her and her boyfriend to live in.
He'd live on one side and she on the other.
I thought that was a fabulous solution for making a relationship last.

Ideal...I think.
No squabbles about who has to clean what.
Who should pick up their socks.
Who should take out the trash.

You both have your own side and you can have sleep overs.
The perfect arrangement, if you ask me.

Thanks to all of you that were supportive about my little blog piracy.
I was so happy when it got taken down.

Have a nice Sunday!

Blog Piracy

and not of the cute and sexy kind
I've been robbed.
The other night I accidently discovered another blog using ALL my posts.
They go back to the very beginning when I started this blog in January 2010.
Almost 400 posts.
Someone copied every single one of my posts and also posts of Steve's of

I emailed Steve as soon as I discovered. This creep of the internet has copied other
bloggers' posts all the way back to 2008.
Steve recognized the blog content of two other bloggers he knew and contacted them

I just spent about four hours last night reporting each individual post to
Blogger.

I reported that my whole entire blog was stolen in one submission form and they
wrote me back and said that I must report the url of each of my posts and each of
the url's of the posts on the offending blog.

Well, I got a system going where I could cut and paste and managed to get my time
of reporting each stolen post down to taking me two minutes each.

At that rate, it will still take me about 12 hours to report them all and that
is with no time taken between reports.
So it's really going to take me more like 14 or 15 hours.

I am beyond livid about this.
You can't imagine how much it hurts to find my very personal stuff there.
I know I share all with my fellow bloggers....but as soon
as I saw all my posts exploited to just earn money for this person that is copying and pasting
just to earn ad dollars...well it makes me sick.

This is the last thing I need to be working on...right now.

So I'm reporting my stolen posts to blogger instead of writing new content.

I so appreciate all of you who have emailed me, checking on how I am doing.

I am doing a little better. I am learning to live with the pain of losing Newman.
It almost seems like he was a dream and that he never existed.
So painful to think about him.

My sister is doing MUCH better. I'm hoping she might be out of the care center by end of the month.
And hopefully, she'll never get in that kind of condition again.
She is feeling pretty good and just needs to work on rehab to be able to get out.

I had lunch yesterday for the first time in a very long time with Shelly.
I had not seen her in almost three weeks.
Her immune system was almost non existent because of her blood count being destroyed by the chemo.
So she has not had visitors during this time.
I didn't want to take the chance of bringing in any germs plus she has been extremely tired
and very very sick.

But by yesterday she was feeling better and wanted to go eat at our favorite Thai food buffet.
She is breathing better and in less pain.
This could mean the chemo is working. We won't know for sure for several more weeks.
She has another chemo treatment on Monday.
And she'll be very very sick for a couple of weeks after that.
She just gets to feeling better and then its time for chemo again.

Anyway...for now things are going about as good as we could hope.
We do have hope.

Have any of you had your posts hijacked?
I would tell you the address of this criminal but I don't want him to get any traffic he doesn't deserve.

I have to say it's been very upsetting to me.
The hardest part is seeing my little Newman on this stranger's site.

So far I've had about 10 posts taken off that I reported the other night.
Last night I reported about 90 more.... and I have so many more to do.

**Update**
After reading your comments today...I tried to answer most questions with a comment of my own.
So please go to my comments to read a little more.

**New Update**
The criminal blog has been taken down!
I'm not sure if Blogger did this or if the blogger himself gave up.
This does not mean that it won't happen again.
But at least for now...I know my posts are still my own.

Now... I'm going to really try to get back to business as usual.
