Open House Sunday

That New Old House in Atlanta
built 2013
That's right...2013.
Doesn't look it, does it?
The proportions are just right on this new house.
I thought it was old when I first came upon the listing.
The outside certainly looks vintage.
The only giveaway is that the garage is down and under.
I love the mix of brick and white columns on the porch.
The backside with several levels of decks going down to a sloping yard.
I'm going to be honest here. I HAD to go out of my region to get a nice house to show today.
I, first try to stay in my city, Oklahoma City when I show houses on Sundays but sometimes
I go to Tulsa or Dallas.
But let me tell you...it's hard to find houses locally with nicely decorated interiors.
So many are early country & western / tuscan, here.
Hideous!

They have big gloomy overly ornate furniture in browns and dark reds and greens.
Of course that is not my aesthetic and I don't like showing that here.

so....
I searched and searched for a nice house to show and finally threw up my hands and said....
"I must go to Atlanta. Atlanta always has nice houses". Within minutes I'd found several good ones.
So today's house is from the Morningside neighborhood in Atlanta.
When you think of Morningside you usually think of historic homes but this one's new.
But it looks historic and though it has an open floor plan inside, it does have a vintage vibe.

Such as the coffer ceiling above and the pretty traditional fireplace.

Very nice kitchen with a vintage feel. Of course I like the countertops.
I don't know if they are marble or a quartz but they are very pretty.
Love that narrow fridge. Who says I fridge has to be the size of a Uhaul truck?
I think the size of that one would do most nicely.
It would do me!
Here we see how the kitchen is open to the living room.
Interesting dark subway tile. That is a very different look but it's still classic.
Love those light fixtures!
I like the Butler's Pantry even more!
Nice wainscoting in here. I'm not crazy about the brown paint....but that's an easy fix. The perfect porch complete with fireplace.
I'd want to be out here all the time.
Isn't this a fun room? I'm crazy for the group of three lights here.
Love the built ins with lights above the shelves too.
Very pretty bath. Love the gray cabinets and those mirrors.
Totally digging the vintage look vanity lights.
 Big tub and shower
Restful bedroom done up in gray.
Another nice bath...this one smaller.

Oh...I'm all about that wallpaper and the mirror!
 Another pretty bedroom.
and another....this house has great windows.

Looks old doesn't it? I could live in a new house if it was like this one.

I could move right into that lovely home, Nita! They've added so many vintage looking details. It's got the best of both worlds. I love all the light the many windows bring into the house. We're installing new plantation shutters in our living room today, and after seeing these photos, I know we made the right choice. Thanks for the post!

Blogger is acting up and I'm not sure if my comment is accepted - so apologies for any duplication.
Beautiful house - I'd spend all my time out on the porch with the fireplace too.

When I saw the exterior, I wasn't too excited. If that house was here in the Midwest, I couldn't get up and down that drive in the winter.
THEN, I saw the inside....
OMG, I'm pinning the whole damn thing. I would not change a single thing. Total perfection.
(I have the ceiling fan that they have in the porch, that made me happy to see!)
LOVE LOVE this! thank you!
(except now you've made me want to change my mind on getting white subway tile to black! HA!)
xoxo - Cindi
(PS, blogger IS really a pain today! I had to change the color on all my text on my post for today just to get it to show up! Grrr)

This is such a gorgeous house...
I have to say, I love all of their light fixtures. I'm also really fond of the chairs they have--they all look comfy (for the most part) but at the same time, very sophisticated--like the ones near the piano. This house really makes me want to change out the lighting in my bedroom!

This home proves that you can have a new home that has tons of charm. Love the kitchen. I can't tell if the backsplash in the butlers pantry is tile or wallpaper but I like it even better than the black subway tile.

This is exactly the type of new, 'old' houses that we're wanting to build using vintage reclaimed materials. We're interested in building smaller, non-brick houses, but very similar in terms in design aesthetic! Thanks for sharing. LOVE this home and the curb appeal.
