Spooky Little Things
Here's my Halloween mantel for this year.
I wanted it to be way different than what I've done in the past and I didn't want it to cost me any money.
I achieved both and really like it.
You can see last year's here.
I'll show the rest of the room tomorrow.
I gathered up all my cloches and filled them with ghostly silhouettes.
I hung strips of white tulle from the chandelier and attached paper bats to it.
It looks like the bats are flying around under the chandi.
Very effective.
I've made these little ghosts before using interfacing fabric.
Well, when I decided to make these the other night, I had no interfacing.
But I discovered that plain white printer paper works just as good.
I just taped the bats to the tulle strips.
I'm sure this will look spooky at night by candle light.
I haven't tried that yet...but I'll take photos when I do.
I really like making decorations for Halloween rather than buying them.
I made things for the dining room too. I'll show that tomorrow.
Have you made any spooky things for Halloween?

I love your bats hanging from your chandy with the tulle. Your ghouls in your cloches look wicked as well! Looking forward to the rest of your halloween decor!
Spook-tacular! Wonder what a ghost cut from the white tulle would look like under the cloche.
Hi Nita, it looks great!
So cute, Nita. I only did three tablescapes for Halloween, and I'm about to have to take one down for a Think Pink luncheon for Susan G. Komen.
Then I'll redecorate for autumn!
I love the spider webs and ghosts best. You did a great job, and I look forward to seeing the dining room!

Nita,
Charming as always. Love the ghosts and
the bats, another great idea....can't wait to see more. Are your fire place candles real or led?
When are you going to add Franklin to your "The Weenies" side bar? Also can't wait to see his costume.
I LOVE it all Nita, great job! I just adore all of the details. Thank you for hosting my late entry:). Have a great night! Jen

You are the ultimate decorator when it comes to Halloween. I remembered how beautifully decorated your place was last year and this year just tops that! I on the other hand don't even feel like getting one pumpkin. In fact I'm planning to hide on Halloween night. Thank you for your kind words you left on my blog Nita. I really truly appreciate your offer to contact you via email and I may just do that.

Cool! You managed to make spooky rather beautiful!
Your fireplace tile colors show up so pretty with your Halloween decor. The strips of tulle with bats under the chandelier are glamourous and feminine--I'm sure they must be lady bats! Can't wait to see the dining room too.
Nita , I love your style!!!
Have a pretty day!
