Special Finds and Friends
Fall is quickly approaching and I realized I hadn't shown the table decor I've been enjoying this past month in my dining room.
Of course once I set out to take photos...all I got were cloudy days to photograph.
So these photos are not as clear as I would have hoped.
The white lanterns inspired this grouping.
A special friend surprised me with them last month when we met for lunch.
Belinda
Belinda lives in Edmond, Oklahoma and we became friends through emails.
She saw these lanterns and just knew they were for me.
I was surprised and thrilled to get them.
I knew they'd end up in a summer vignette.
Belinda doesn't have a blog but she's a great pinner.
You can follow her Pinterest boards - here.
She finds the best inspiration.
So once I had the lanterns I had to come up with things to put with them.
That includes an old cut work white linen table cloth I've had forever.
I also got out pearl handled steak knives that were once my great grandmother's.
I guess I should have polished them...hmmmm.
I was inspired to get out my white china which I haven't had out in ages.
It's Johnson Brother's Richmond White.
My Mom used to buy it for me for every birthday and holiday.
Unfortunately, they discontinued it and now it's super expensive to find the missing pieces I need.
I have 12 place settings but I need serving pieces. No tragedy it mixes well with other china.
The grey wicker tray basket came from Hobby Lobby found on clearance for $20.
I was happy to find it and imagine it will show up in fall decorating later.

Hi Nita, I love the white china. I keep wanting to collect white, but always resist simply because, well, at some point you just have to say no to more :) I adore yours. It looks great. Thanks for sharing your summer look -- I can't believe we're already hinting at fall.
Hi Nita! Wow your dining room looks so different without all the colorful accent pieces~its very summery and light! I want to see the shutters!!
Love the vignettes and the post!
Well, you KNOW that I LOVE white!
:D
It's kind of a shock to see it in your home, I always think color and sparkly when I think of you.
It looks very cool and calming.
Very nice in this hot weather!
Just beautiful. :)

Your room is so pretty! What a nice surprise! I love the lanterns! Your vignette is amazing! Everything looks so pretty!
What a lovely vignette you've created here, Nita. I didn't know that Johnson Brothers has an all-white china. I love their blue and white, red and white and green and white patterns, but I also really like your all-white style as well. Very pretty pictures in your post!
Your photos are absolutely dreamy! And that china is GORGEOUS! You have created a beautiful vignettes-- thanks for sharing it-- it is very inspiring.
I love your white dishes. The second I saw them on your post I wondered what the pattern was....kept reading and there it was...kept reading only to find out they are discontinued and now expensive...maybe if you hint to your mom she will search for serving pieces and continue the tradition of giving you a piece for each birthday and Christmas! Moms are like that, you know. They enjoy making their children happy.
Such pretty and crisp white dishes ... you've displayed them beautifully. And, what a lovely vignette ... love the basket (and Hobby Lobby)!
