Mixing It Up on the Patio

I found this pretty patio at HomeGoods.com. 

A shopper loaded a photo of their own patio that included HomeGoods finds.

I'm guessing those aqua garden came from there. 

HomeGoods is finally coming to Oklahoma this fall in Norman.

I can not wait!

So, there was so much good stuff last week in Mod Mix Monday that I'm sharing here on 

Tuesday all the projects that were garden related.

Christine of Little Brags shared this potting bench that was given to her by a friend.

The friend had it sitting around their garage and not using it.

Well, Christine has put it too good use!

Fabiana of Ciao! Newport Beach gave us a tour of a secret garden

after becoming friendly with it's owner.

I can see why glimpses like these made her want to go in and see more!

Andrea of Opulent Cottage showed off her third potting bench.

That's right...she has three. This one came from a neighbor anxious to be rid of it.

What a lucky girl! It's the perfect addition to her little summer sitting spot in her garden.

I love seeing everyone's yards, don't you?

I should have a little outside project to share tomorrow.

Doesn't that cupboard have the nicest worn finish?

It's perfect against the beadboard with lots of ironstone displayed in and on it.

Love the sky blue walls with it too and the primitive red barn painting.

Notice the wall color shows up again on the chair in the foreground?

Did you watch the season finale of Mad Men?

Don has been in a downward spiral all season.

Love this show and I'm going to miss it till it comes back in a year.

Here we go with my favorites from last week's Mod Mix Monday -

Katie of Upcycled Treasures transformed an old sofa table into a beautiful ocean dream.

This is the perfect table for holding things that remind you of the sea.

I love the color.

I can't resist any buffet of this sort and this one painted by Therena of Little Bit of Paint 

is a gorgeous one. 

Lovely distressed creamy white paint makes this one a charmer.

The Scribbler is back of Scribbler Unfocused with two chairs she calls Bohemian Rhapsody.

She painted some ugly fabric covered chairs with raspberry floral paint and it was hugely successful.

Did you think they were painted when you looked at this? I sure didn't.

I love this kind of lamp. This one made by Tricia of Little Cottage on the Pond.

It's actually a vintage baluster which has been electrified.

Kim of Reposhture painted a waterfall dresser in cream and added the union jack to great affect.

It's bloody good ol' chap!

Danielle of Finding Silver Pennies showed off her pretty farmhouse kitchen complete

with a small island from IKEA. It's perfect for the space!

Laurel at The North End Loft made the cutest doorstops.

These burlap bags with rabbit labels.

There were good garden things too.

I'll share those later in the week.

Open House Sunday

Decorating in Wild Abandon!

This tudor cottage is the home of an interior designer.

I'm in love with the home from first site of the landscaping.

Inside is a wild cottage mix of colors and textures.

Many wonderful things in this home.

Perhaps too many wonderful things but lots to look at.

I believe the fireplace is tiled in a mosaic of broken china.

glasses in jewel colors fill the shelves of the built in bar

Amazing Italian glass chandelier highlights the bits of turquoise in the room.

Many colorful carpets fill this home.

I've never thought about hanging a painting in a window but it works here.

The person that decorated this home is not afraid of anything it seems.

It's wild abandon in decorating!

Love the marble counters mixed with hand painted cabinets.

The cabinets certainly look old world but appliances are certainly new. 

Colorful carpets even in here.

Love the old log used as a mantel on this fireplace.

Love the beadboard ceiling too.

Why not a little zebra up the stairs?

This fireplace is very unusual.

Many things in this home, I've never seen before.

Even the bathroom has atmosphere with those sconces over the tub.

The touches of red are nice.

A child's room under the eaves.

Another pretty bedroom in what used to be attic space.

Interesting screen behind the bed.

I love the choice of pillows used on this outside bench.

A patio full of fun outside.

I'm crazy for those pagoda umbrellas.

You can get them at Pier 1.

A precious garden

What do you think of this cottage?

It is over the top...isn't it?

It's too much for me to live in but I guarantee I'd like the person that designed it and lives here.

There is fun in it's decor. 

I love the wide variety of items in this place.

I'm sure she must be interesting.
