Isn't this just the best? 

I'd love to have every bit of this on my porch.

Pretty turquoise table of course.

Tole chandelier hanging from a vintage birdcage stand.

Chunky little wooden stool for an ottoman and little bird bath used as a plant stand.

But...the best part?

That chair!

That funny old director's type chair that then has new fabric in a vintage looking floral.

I'm in love with everything single thing.

To all worried about me....I am fine...tornado hit south of me.

It was devastating to those living in Moore, Oklahoma.

My thoughts and prayers are with them.

But the weenies and I are fine in my part of the city.

So much good stuff last week it was hard to choose my favorites from Mod Mix Monday.

Amy at Maison Decor showed off this cool vintage dresser her son painted 

with Boston subway stops. It's available in their Boston store.

Marium of Decorate Vintage shared some fabulous vintage finds she collected from various

yard and estate sales. This needle point is from the 70's.

But I'm all about the way she styled it with the clock and little containers.

Mariaelana of Cottage Living from Beach to Burbs made this hydrangea wreath 

and shows you how.

Kim of Reposhture took two not so great mid century tables and turned them into this 

with a little white paint and silver leaf. 

It doesn't hurt that it's sitting next to a fabulous chair.

Patti of Old Things New painted her walls in this wonderful stencil.

Penny of Penny's Vintage Home created a cut little spot on her porch for her shabby chickens to roost.

Kim at Refound Vintage made over a dark piece of furniture into this!

It's suppose to be an exciting week here weather wise. Tornadoes were all around today.

Thankfully, none close to me or my loved ones.

I feel for everyone that is dealing with the destruction of the storms.

More to come this week. Should be loads of fun.

Open House Sunday

Bungalow on a Hill

Here's a pretty little bungalow sitting high on the lot.

One of my friends in my neighborhood has a house that sits high up on her lot and it feels like you are living in a tree house looking down on everyone.

I thought I wouldn't like that feeling but I tell you my friend's house is very cool.

I'll show it one of these days. 

So anyway...the fact that this one sits up high...is a bonus.

Cute curb appeal.

Quite a slope to the yard.

I like the colors they used on this home outside.

Slate has been put on the porch. I know this looks nice but I prefer au-naural concrete.

The features of this house are very cute. It's not decorated the best but it's nice and homey.

I love all the white trim. Typical bungalow features that would have originally been in a stained wood.

I know stained wood is what these homes would have had originally but I just love white woodwork.

Everything looks better with white woodwork.

Cute sun porch.

It's just off the kitchen.

Again...don't like the decor one bit but this dining room would be nice in other colors and with other furniture.

Another sitting room or office.

Lots I love about this kitchen and things I don't. I love the cabinets and the stove.

Counters are fine but I hate the color of the backsplash. It would have been so much better 

in true white and I don't like black sinks...

I know this is carrying the color of the counter through but I'd rather see white. 

I do like that the kitchen faucet is coming out of the wall just like it originally would.

It's a very narrow galley kitchen...but that is typical of a house from this era.

This is the hall. Love the built ins right off the dining room which would be very convenient 

for storage and easy access to your china and glasses.

Now up the stairs. 

Good spot for a master.

Another bedroom. I'd love to have a bedroom that would be up in the trees.

Nice vintage bathroom. I like the color combination here dark cream, white and gray.

Sitting area upstairs. Red is so wrong for this room. It should be a color that adds to the tree house feel.

Look at all that green out the windows. Wouldn't this room be pretty in light colors? 

Light green or light aqua?

A screen porch upstairs. This could be such a great spot. 

Not decorated to shine at all. But I can imagine the possibilities.

Not a big yard...but big enough. I like the brick patio.

I'm painting my potting bench a shade of turquoise and I have a few

small garden accessories I've picked up in the color that I'll show as soon

as my yard looks better. 

I worked this week on filling that darn sink hole. 

Progress made but still have more to do. 

I just want to do the pretty stuff in the yard and leave the hard labor for someone else.

Alas, there is no one else to do it. 

So I do the not so fun stuff and put off the pretty gardening for a bit.
