I'm
on the
I'm so glad you stopped by...please come in...
Step right into my Living Room...
This is my pink sofa I've had since just after college.
It was pinky peach when I bought it but I had it recovered a few years ago in a rosie pink or as
Pantone calls it...Color of the Year "Honeysuckle"!
Coffee table is a garden table from Hobby Lobby topped with a larger piece of glass.
I love the details of my 1931 cottage which includes the arches
and the pullman ceiling that I painted sky blue.
The corner lamp is a vintage plant stand topped with a pink paper lantern.
This is my art tile fireplace I designed and built using vintage Batchelder tile.
The medallion above the living chandi I purchased at Home Depot and hand painted.
This lamp was brown and gold when given to me by a friend.
I painted it white and recovered a shade in a damask patterned fabric.
This little table I started to paint last week but ran out of time to finish
so it just has primer on it at the moment. It think it's going to be periwinkle.
Another look at the living room ceiling.
This little french dresser is next on the list to be painted.
This was another lamp that was hideous gold and I painted it white and added
a shade I covered in Shabby Chic fabric.
I bought this desk on the side of the road for $5 then painted it white, of course.
Now to the Dining Room
I just finished painting all this dining room furniture.
Notice the pink ceiling in the dining room?
I have a thing for painted ceilings.
And only yesterday did I recovered the seats.
I covered each seat in a different color and different pattern.
I'll talk more about it tomorrow in a post.
The captains chair in the corner. This room still needs art.
So I'll be showing it again when I figure that out.
Silly Bird
Now into the Hall
I use my hall as a little dressing area displaying my costume jewelry.
My Little Glamorous Hall Bath
I just kept adding venetian mirrors to the walls in this bath as I bought them.
Currently, there are over 60.
Now, the Master Bath
I took the mirrored doors off the medicine cabinet and added wood trim
and a venetian mirror.
A Glimpse into the Office
Sorry, the rest of the room is not blog worthy, yet.
Now to the Kitchen
I took a few doors off to display china and added a little chandelier.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the breakfast nook
There was some water damage on this wall recently. It's on the list to be fixed.
Dog bed under the willow table and the signs of where Harvey chewed as a puppy.
To be fixed.
McCoy flower pot collection in a large terrarium.
The ceiling in the breakfast nook is painted periwinkle.
and finally, out to the back deck
Shade grass had not been planted yet last spring. There is plenty of grass back there now.
My back deck last summer. I can't wait till it looks like this again.
Thanks so much for joining me on this tour of my home.
But the tour isn't over...

Nita, your home is lovely. So beautifully put together with such flair and personality! Thanks for letting us peek inside! Lynn
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful. As you know, I love your house! Seeing pictures of your home always inspires me to try to brighten things up around mine (my brown brown brown furniture is getting worried right about now). My mom was over recently and I showed her your blog (she doesn't get on the computer much on her own). She was in love with your pastel pretty rooms. She kept saying, "are there more rooms to see?" as I surfed through your past posts : ) She's says she's going to try to make a "glowing sink" too- I'll share pics if she ever gets around to it. Thanks for all the inspiration !
ReplyDeleteHi Nita...
ReplyDeleteMy friend, I am nearly speechless! (The key word being "nearly"...hehe!) Seriously...I just adore your fabulous home!!! I have had sooo much fun watching this home "grow" with you...or maybe better said..."grow into YOU!" I believe that it has your very personality and spirit in each and every little nook and cranny! Just as a home should be...a reflection of who we are! With that all said...your home is breathtakingly charming! I really do love each and every thing that you have done in your home...your decor is amazing and I love it!!! I remember the first time that I visited your delightful blog...quite some time ago...it was your gorgeous living room that "wowed" me! That fabulous fireplace and your pretty red sofa!!! And now...I have been able to visit each and every room as it has unfolded under your creative and talented touch!!! If I went into all the details that I love...this note would soon turn into a book! Hehe! I will say though...that I love, love, LOVE your finished dining room! My friend, it is just beautiful! From your sparkling chandelier and lovely ceiling medallion...right down to all the lovely pieces of furniture that you chose and refurnished!!! Ohhh...I sooo love your pretty buffet or sideboard! And your table and chairs are just as beautiful!!! I love the pretty fabrics that you chose to recover the chairs!!! Ohhh...and just one more thing before I close. Your hall bath is nothing short of magnificent! It truly is glamourous! I love all the Venetian mirrors and the little chandeliers that you have at your sink!!! Sooo very pretty, my dear!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous home with us! You are truly an inspiration to me...I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you take this house and turn it into your home!!! BRAVO, my friend!!!
