Open House Sunday

I'm assuming these next photos are of a different structure on the property.

My what a beautiful home in a beautiful spot.

Sounds like many of you agreed with me yesterday on my feelings towards
Black Friday.

Remember when Linus spoke out about the over commercialization of
Christmas in Charlie Brown Christmas?

I remember as a kid thinking...Christmas was fine being commercialized.
But oh....it's way out of hand now.
Charlie Brown Christmas rings more true today than ever.

My Mom said she was to teach a lesson in Church this week on the true meaning
of Christmas and how to keep from being swept up in all the commercial parts of it.

She fretted about what to say that hadn't already been said.
That it seems obvious what is important about the holiday and it's not the shopping.

I agreed, saying..."what more can be said that wasn't said in A Charlie Brown Christmas?"
She then said she might just bring the Charlie Brown DVD to class and pop it in
and say - "Watch this." and be done with it.

Pink Christmas

On to Christmas
Thanksgivings over and Black Friday and we can now concentrate on Christmas.
I really really don't care for Black Friday and I REALLY hate it that
everyone is opening now on Thanksgiving night for it.
That is just wrong. Everyone says..."Oh...only those that want to work have to."
But that is not true....from my experience EVERYONE is required to work because
its so darn busy.

My opinion on this is that it's the HAVE's deciding the HAVE NOT's should
spend their Holiday servicing the HAVE's.
What do you think?
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting all my Christmas stuff out.
I didn't decorate last year for the first time ever and I'm ready to get to it this year.
I'm digging these pink Christmas trees.
I actually have one like this that I've had for several years and its never been out of the box.
It will be going up this year for sure.
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a grinch when it comes to the maddening crowds that are clammering to
buy stuff this Black Friday weekend.
My mood is bound to improve once all that madness subsides.
I actually kind of like to shop on Christmas Eve everyone is so desperate...it's funny.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
My plan is to cook and eat and after dinner watch Christmas movies with a friend.
This friend loves Christmas movies so much that she watches them year round.
I have told her I will not watch them with her until Thanksgiving night.
The Christmas Season will begin after dinner.

I'd rather wait a couple of days but she is ready!
You know I think one of these days in the future...
we will celebrate all these holidays as one and it will be called...
 "Thanksmasweenyear"
We'll celebrate from the first of October through the New Year
with no breaks in between.
We pretty much do this already.
Happy Thanksmasweenyear!

I have lots to be thankful for this year.
That includes you....
