Mod Mix Monday #60

I had this headboard when I was a teenager. It was bought at Pier 1 when I was sixteen.
I was just thinking today that I bet they could sell a ton of these if they would start making them again.
The headboards Pier 1 has now are so normal.
They are nice, especially a linen upholstered one they carry
but I think some people would like something like this again.
I painted mine white...yes...all those years ago...I was busy painting things white.

Look what happened last week!
Bliss Ranch turned an old dresser into this fabulous bar!
Isn't it charming and eclectic?
Kim at Resposhture redid her old buffet with a little white paint and silver rub and buff.
I love this look of a white frame with wood stained drawers.
Jen at City Farmhouse found these beauties in the trash!
Of course they looked nothing like this when she found them.
Aren't they pretty?
Mariaelana of Cottage Living from Beach to Burbs got this pair
of french side tables and started painting. She wanted a beachy vibe.
Here you see the before and after.
If you ever question...should I paint this white? Here is your answer.
I have a french chest that I've been thinking of painting white forever.
I think I might just do it tomorrow. I have the day off and I should just do it.
Or should I paint my hutch to potting bench?
hmmmmmmmm....which to do....which to do?

On to this week's projects.

Open House Sunday

Cottages by the Sea
I love those orange wicker chairs in this room.
Gorgeous seafaring chandelier
Bright Kitchen
pretty patterns everywhere
love this breakfast nook
Really love this wallpaper and the porthole mirror is a nice touch.

That's a very cute ocean cottage, isn't it? All bright colors mixed with ocean colors.

Or does your taste go more towards these rooms for your seaside retreat?
tranquil whites and blues
mixed with shells
All very nautical and shabby
I adore big bottles like this. You can buy a bottle just like this at Pier 1 right now.
This dining room just makes my heart skip a few beats.
I love everything about it.
Including the toile on the chairs

So of the two...which beach cottage look do you like best?

I really like both and would be happy with either but the romantic in me pushes
me a little more in favor of the second.

Summer at the Beach

I can wish...
Nope, no beach vacation for me.
But just looking at images of these beachy rooms...cools me.
It is suppose to be 107 here today.
I believe it.
Hope you are surviving the heat wherever you are.

It's so hot that even Franklin doesn't want to spend much time outside.
Oh...I just realized he's grown since this photo. His collar isn't this loose any more.
I'll have to take some new photos.

The other night I happily came in from the grocery store and emptied my bags into the fridge.
I had bought a package of tofu dogs for myself..Good Dog is the name of them
and they are very good - just as named.
Anyway, I opened the package and took one out and went in to get on the computer.
I stupidly left them on the counter.
Although there has never been a risk of leaving anything on the counter before.
So I'm sitting at the computer and realize there is a rustling sound on the sofa.
Sally has the package from the Good Dogs!
She's licking it clean! There are no tofu dogs to be found anywhere!
It could not have been more than a few minutes.
I'd absently left my step stool near the counter when I was arranging things earlier in the day.
I guess as soon as I turned my back...Franklin went bloop, bloop...up on the stool.
Pulled down all the dogs.
I don't know if all the weenies ate them or if Franklin ate them all.
Franklin definitely had tofu dog breath.
All I could do was laugh. He's too smart for his own good.

Now I know not to leave the stool near the kitchen counter.
