Sunday Open House

A California Spanish Style Historic Home
(built 1928)
This home is in the Hollywood Hills. You know...where I pretend I live?
Oh...how I wish bougainvillea would grow here year round.
I've bought it a couple of times only to watch it die in the fall.
But look how wonderful it is all over this house.
A bit of a climb
gorgeous entrance
In case you forgot how far the climb.

I like how simple this kitchen is.
I adore all the vintage light fixtures in this home.
That's the money shot.
What a view!

Time for a Cocktail!!!

I'm Celebrating
Friday is always a good day for a cocktail- the end of the work week and all.
I think I'll have a drink to celebrate that I'm finally doing the final finishing touches on
 my dining room furniture.
Don't you love the look of a bar set up in a room?
I don't actually have a bar set up but I do have out an antique seltzer bottle,
glass decanter and sherry glasses.
I do love old seltzer bottles, don't you?
A little bar set up in the corner looks so cosmopolitan.
A few libations on a pretty tray.
All these images came from Lonny Magazine.
They do love a bar set up at Lonny.
There is one in almost every house spread.
Look how nice all those bottles look on a shabby chic dresser.
Oh...a mirrored tray. I remember when Target had these and I couldn't justify buying one.
That was foolish...look how great this looks! I think every bar set up has to have a bottle of Bombay Gin.
Not for taste but for the beautiful blue color.
I think I'll start looking for a bar cart for a corner in the dining room.
But how impressive is this armoire decked out as a bar?
I think this is the most elegant thing.

Photos to come soon of the dining room and more open houses.
I found some more good ones!

California Cottage

Once you get past the banana trees it's really lovely. How's that for an entrance?
I love how this home opens to the outside.
Step out of the dining room to this sitting area and fountain.
Take a nap on this outdoor bed after a dip in the pool.
Oh...those Californians know how to live.
The kitchen is the only part of the house lacking but it could so easily be fixed.
It's actually very nice except for that tile behind the range.
What were they thinking? I actually like avocado green mixed with periwinkle.
But I don't want to see it in kitchen tile in a nice fresh white kitchen.
But that could be fixed in a day.
See...nice without the tile.
Ah...finally...cute bathroom.
