An Easter Tea

H a p p y   E a s t e r ! ! !
I decided to set my dining room table for Easter even though I'm actually eating out.
Yes, reservations at a fabulous restaurant in town.
But I couldn't resist to set the table because I have the perfect dishes for Easter
and have never had them out in this house.
I'd been saving them for use on the table after it was painted white.
These dishes are LuRay Pastels. They were manufactured from 1938 to 1962.
I've collected them for a long time and have at least a set of 8 as a mixed set...
two pink, two yellow, two blue, two green of everything plus extras of quite a lot
and lots of serving pieces.

I have egg cups too but couldn't find the yellow one in my cabinet today.
Besides...eggs don't really go with tea.
It does make the perfect Easter table although I don't think it compares to what
Pottery Barn came up with.
All of this is so perfect from the willow charges to the little bunnies and egg shaped plates.
This gives me something to strive for next year.

Easter Decor

We're ready Easter Bunny!
Finally, here is my Easter decor.
I had to make a second run for more tulips after I started this bouquet.
And then today was cloudy so I had to wait for little peeks of sunlight to take the photos.
I have really been enjoying these rooms after I finished the dining room
furniture paint job and was not in the mood to restyle it.
So I put it off...but now that it's redone for Easter....I'm loving it.
Yet, I can't wait to put the big bird back on the buffet as soon as Easter is over.
I've had this sweet turquoise McCoy water pitcher for a very long time.
Finally, it gets to be a star this Easter.
Sorry, one more shot....because I love it so.
Thank goodness I bought lots of eggs on sale after Easter at Pier 1 last year.
I used only green and blue tinted ones in this display.
Majolica is perfect at Easter.
Easter on the Mantel
I was lazy and just added these vintage eggs I'd bought last year at Michaels in front
of the display that was already there.
Little chicks from Hobby Lobby last year.
I know this display could be bigger and better but I just don't have it in me.
This was last years display....
See all of it here.
I planned on saving those flowered branches to use this year.
I made them by taking branches from my backyard and spray painting them white.
I then hot glued silk flowers to them.
So I saved these branches and they sat on a table in the back bedroom for months.
When I went to move them I found what seemed to be sand under them and all around.
Weird....how did sand get here? (I thought)
Then I realized that there must be bugs in the wood that was making the sand.
Which wasn't sand at all...it was sawdust!
Freaked me out....to think I'd brought wood eating bugs into the house.
So I threw them away immediately! And now I am very hesitant to bring any sticks into the house.
I brought out the big bunny again this year.
More chicks from Hobby Lobby. These from several years ago.
My favorite Easter book.
Read about it here.
I could have made this into several Easter posts....oh...well....I'll keep going.
I'd forgotten I had this wire basket. I was looking around for things to use and there it was.
It came from Hobby Lobby like 8 years ago.
I'd buy it again tomorrow if I saw it. Just love the design of it.
Bunny from Hob Lob too. They didn't have any this year that I couldn't live without.
And finally...
Easter Weenies!
Do you see them there behind all the nose smears?
I put them out of the house while I was taking photos...so of course they were
very interested in what I was doing.
If the door had not been shut, they would have been busy in the yard.
But since it was shut...they wanted to know what I was up to and sat there peering in.
Crying a little too. Finally, Violet DEMANDED to be let back in.
They are all sleeping at my feet at the moment.

One more thing.... my copy of
came this week.
I have only glanced at it but it looks to be just as good as I'd hoped.
We'll discuss next Wednesday, April 27.
So if you've got your copy...be ready to discuss as part of the

The next book after "Undecorate" to be reviewed will be....
I received a signed copy from Fifi that I won from Tracie at
I was thrilled to win it because I'd been wanting it.
Thank you...Tracie!

So that book came the same day as the "Undecorate" book.
I have not had a chance to look at either but I'll be talking about "Romantic Prairie Style"
soon too.
