Open House Sunday

I hate to say it but I'm not sure where I found this house.
I saved it in a folder but now the link to it has gone bad.
I thought this New York City brownstone made for a nice house to show as we near Halloween.
It's all greys and whites and black.
That collection of mirrors on a white brick wall is very nice mixed with the globe pendants.

I love that this house is just a mix of neutrals. It's very sharp.
I could never limit myself this much. But I love how this place looks.
Well, I love all of this but the deer head. I know they are in style but I will never embrace them.
Oh...I'd embrace this kitchen though....I'd dance with it all night.
Cozy child's bed
Simple and yet striking bathroom.
I think those portraits above the bed are too spooky.
Nothing spooky about this closet though.
The clothing is even all neutrals! She must have hidden her colorful clothing for this photo shoot.

  1. Don't they say we decorate with the colors we wear? I probably won't choose a beige couch when I replace mine, but I love the way they've given theirs a modern vibe with the throw and pillows. And I love the mirror gallery wall against the industrial brick! Fun listing!

This is a very cool place.
I agree about taxidermy. How can something dead be good energy
    Anyway...
that bedroom is cool but spooky
and I won't be able to sleep in there with those photos above my head!
    LOL!
    Thanks for this Open House!

  4. I love how coordinated this house is. It seems one room flows into the other, which I find very restful... But I'm with you about the portraits above the bed!

  5. Hi Nita,
I love this brownstone. How gorgeous. Love the light and how it comes into the rooms. I am with you on the deer head. I cannot embrace Bambi's dad hanging on the fire place either!!!! Just not my style. I know heads of animals and antlers are all the rage but just cannot get into that decor idea. Have a great start to the new week ahead.

  6. Hi Nita,
"Heart in Harlem" was published in 'Elle Decor UK' in June 2014.

  7. Beautiful brownstone. The soft light makes everything look misty.

Love the bathroom. The lacy shower curtain looks perfect with the hex floor and the black cast-iron tub.

  9. This house is so beautiful! The interior design is unique and even if it's in gray colours, look so warm and cozy. The pillow with the bear head on it so very cute!
