Open House Sunday

Romantic Vintage Living
built 1925
This home had me at the rose lined front walkway.
Very pretty front entry.
Very inviting! I love that door! Notice the two glassed panels at top?
I don't think I've ever seen a door like this before.
Just love the little vestibule and the color of the door.
Love the front hallway.
This is all pretty much perfect. Love the old iron railing, that small chest with mirror.
The chandelier and that lamp.
The front living room could use a bit more.
It needs more art on the walls.
But I've always loved a sofa that shape. Those chairs are a bit stuff though.
Very pretty fireplace. I'd be happy with that.
This room would be better with the addition of drapes.
Notice the detailed crown molding.
I love the color of this hallway.
I think this is just a big open hallway between rooms in the house. I really like that.
 Into the dining room...
I'm very disappointed by this room.
I'm way over red dining rooms and this one seems out of place with the rest of the house.
The new owners should paint this room a nice neutral or blue color immediately.
It's a very nice room....I just hate the color.
But there is nothing wrong with this kitchen!
Huge stainless Viking stove! Super Great!
Love all the marble!
Love the subway tile!
Oh...yes...I could be very happy in this room. I'm not fond of green walls but that's an easy fix.
Everything else is perfect. Oh, I'd probably change the light fixtures.
Love the sweet romantic banquet complete with even sweeter puppy.
I'd prefer a white wood table in this space, however.
But I adore all those pillows!
up the stairs....
Very nice open master. I wish I had a bedroom this big.
I wish I had the guts to tear down a wall in my house so that I'd have a big bedroom.
Really, I do.
Oh...a window seat. Just love me a window seat.
Bathroom is nice. That is kind of an odd shower and I'd prefer cabinets that looked more furniture like.

But this is very nice just the same.
This would make a great little girl's room.
Cute built ins.
A simple but pretty vintage bath.
 A boy's room.
Back down stairs is this den on the back of the house.
Really love this big ottoman.
This is probably the room the family is in all the time.
hmmm...that's an oddly placed rug. And it doesn't go with the decor at all.
It has french doors that go out to the patio.
A rather formal little backyard.
I'd have to plant some trees in that yard. But it's very sweet just like this house!

See the full listing here.

Thanks for all your kind comments and congratulations yesterday on my new job.

I'll let you know more about it as things develop.

I'm sure I'll be blogging about the good stuff there.

Funny, that I'll be selling new furniture when I prefer old furniture myself.

Every piece of furniture in my house came either from the Salvation Army, a Yard Sale,
an Antique Store, the Flea Market or as a hand me down.

Oh...I have that ottoman from Pier 1 and a few small things from Hobby Lobby.

But mostly it's all vintage.

I really doubt I'll be buying much new for my house while working there.

But I'll have fun helping others pick out what they need for their own homes.

Although, I already have my eye on a lamp!
Yikes! The last thing I need is a lamp. But I do love me some lamps.

I still have't found a spot for the last lamp I bought!

This house is a winner. There isn't anything I dislike about it except the color of the dining room. The front door is absolutely gorgeous but I also love the window seats, hall and kitchen. Thanks for the tour.

Holy crap! It's $2.3 million! But, I must agree, there's not much wrong with this house that a few cans of paint wouldn't cure. And some new pillows on that kitchen banquette but I think we part ways on that opinion. I'd paint those green walls a mid-value taupe or gray and add a lot of textures to the banquette.

Congratulations on your new job. I can see you doing well selling furniture and helping people put together beautiful rooms. I think you have a ability work well in a lot of different styles. You have an eye that a lot of people don't. Good luck!

Oh there are so many things I love in this house! The first picture really called my name. like the paint colours, minus the dining-room, the kitchen is really, really nice, with those little café curtains that reminded me of mine! I also love that flowery sofa upstairs and that bow window in the bedroom!

I think this house is just staged by one of those warehouse places in LA. The layout of this house is wonderful. If I were going to bust out a wall in my house and use one of my bedrooms I would make a bathroom out of it. I've always wanted one of those old bedroom sized bathrooms...dreams. Then I could rip out one of the bathrooms and it would be the perfect size for an office or dressing room.

What a wonderful little cottage! Can you just picture the parties throw here over the years?! It's a very sweet little home. Although, I do think some of the furniture is a bit to big of scale for the spaces. It it lovely though!
