That's my new lamp in the living room.
The lamp came from Goodwill for $4.99 and originally looked like this.
A little paint and sandpaper and I had the chippy painted lamp I had wanted all along.
I took the brass base off of it and added a wood plaque I bought at Michaels to the bottom which
I painted to match.
The shade was an old oval one I had sitting around for awhile.
I recovered it in burlap and added some trim.
It's tufted with a few buttons.
These buttons can easily be removed and I can decorate the shade in another manner
in minutes.
I'll have a tutorial on that next week and show some other lamp embellishments.
Mom gave me the sweet little flower greenhouse for my birthday last month.
We got it at TJ Maxx. Love the TJ Maxx!
I'm joining up with the burlap party!

I love the painted treatment and shade! Too cute, Nita!
ReplyDeleteThe lamp is cool, and I love the image behind it. Is that Norma Talmadge? It looks like one of those movie stars from the 1920s or 20s. At any rate, I love the whole grouping. And what you you have it sitting on -- Have we seen that? Maybe I missed it.
ReplyDeleteOK i just blew up the image --it is Clara Bow! At any rate, she's a really gorgeous woman.
