Open House Sunday

 Coastal Cottage in Nova Scotia
This home is only 150 years old.
I thought it the perfect house for the beginnings of thinking about fall.
I really like the wicker sofa mixed with warm wood and leather in this room.
Perfect fireplace. Love those lanterns above it.
Loving the little game table but I wish that lantern were bigger.
Warm traditional dining room.
The kitchen is wonderful. Love that hood over the stove.
Of course I'd like this kitchen more if it were white but I do like the green of the cabinets.
Double windows over the sink and more lanterns.
I'd be out on this sun porch all the time if I lived here. More lanterns here too.
I don't know about that striped rug up the stairs. Not digging that.
But I think the window seat...perfect and cozy!
I love the style of this bathroom...but I don't care for the blue.
Can you imagine it all in white? I can.
Bedroom has an aviary theme. Birds...birds...everywhere.
I do like the way they have arranged the art on the walls.

All in all...quite lovely.

  1. beautiful home.....not every home can be all white, even though it is a classic look.

  2. ok, I don't believe that anyone actually lives here.
    :)
    It's too perfect, too staged.
I do think it's beautiful but
    definitely not for me.
    (Adore the outside though.)

  4. Great style transcends state lines! Did you notice the storage baskets under the sofa on the porch? So perfect. I could be very happy here. Well done.

  6. Oh yes, I love this house inside and out...what's not to like, except maybe for the cute and 'Little lantern' above the dining room table. Thanks for the great tour Nita.
    Have a nice week ahead.

  7. Love this house. I agree about the green cabinets, I have a friend that has hunter green cabinets and it is BEAUTIFUL! Don't like the blue in the bathroom and I would do a leopard runner on the stairs:):)

  8. I really love this home, mainly because of the charming farmhouse style kitchen, love the green cabinets. Also, the shelves with books and the warmth of the wood cabinets with the green, which is one of my favorite colors. Beautiful floors and bannister too. Too much to list. Thanks for the tour!

  9. Lovely home! I like blue, so I like the blue in the bathroom, I think maybe it picks up the coloring in the marble? Grey would have been nice too, though perhaps too cold looking for a bathroom. The thing I like most about this house, though, is that it's in Nova Scotia and it's probably hardly ever hot there. Honestly, I am so ready for fall!!! Thank you for the wonderful home tour!

  10. PS-like the stripped rug myself, thinking of doing that on our stairs....agree the lantern over the little table needs to be MUCH bigger. Are you painting your living room? What color? (bouncing up and down excitedly).

  13. I want to love this house but for some reason I don't. The color seems totally out of place and it just seems very heavy somehow. I think I could fix it though :)

  14. I like most of this, too. All in all a great house. I do think a lot of the color is probably more appropriate for this house since it is in a colder climate. The exterior looks like a storybook!

  15. It's so pretty - but like you, I looked at the light over the games table and thought 'too small and too high!'.

  16. I love that house: the kitchen, the reading nook, the sunroom. Of course, I would make a few changes, otherwise, where's the fun?
