Open House Sunday 33

Tulsa Time
built 1930
Lots to say about this house in Tulsa.
I think the outside is charming.
Except the front door should be black.
I can't decide if I like the zebra ottoman or hate it.
I don't like leather couches for sure.
And what is that thing hanging on the wall behind the lamp?
Oh...the zebra makes sense now that I can see a leopard print chair.
Yeah, decided I don't like.
And it looks like they covered up their original mantel with a bunch of rough wood.
Hate that.
But I like the chest in front of the window with a few seltzer bottles on it.
Oh, the thing on the wall is a super huge rattan armadillo or maybe a pig.
I like the color of this room but would like it more if the white molding were painted gray
like the rest of the room. It's too much contrast.
Love the artwork but why is that little red chair and table in the room?
Not cute...it ruins the vibe of the room.
They should at least have removed it for the listing photos.
Hmmm...chair hanging on wall....uh...no.
And dog food bowls in dining room. Nope.
I have no problem with dogs eating from a table but I don't want their bowls in the formal dining room.
This is my favorite room in the house, of course.
Love the cabinets and the stainless steel countertops.
And that stove is to die for!
Really like the pig on the wall.
The only thing I do not like about this room is the color of the walls.
It would look so much better painted gray, wouldn't it?
It would be perfection. I love the collection of shiny stuff on the stainless counter.
But oh...that stove...
I won't say anything about this room. I have no place to talk since my own bedroom is almost this sad
at the moment.
This bath is the picture of blandness. I wish they'd gone with a vintage looking tile or white marble.
I like the faucet and soap container and the sconces.
This room...I can't decide. It looks like a room that would keep a man very happy.
Kind of loving that armoire where I am sure the tv hides.
As a man's room goes...it's not bad.
Play some poker, much?
Blue and brown nurseries can be very nice but not this shade of blue and brown.
Apartment over the garage. Cute outside patio lights.
It would not take much to make this house very beautiful...wouldn't you agree?

I've been holding out on you.
I have a secret that I will share early next week.
Stay tuned.

  1. Ok, just when I am thinking something, you say it! I hated alot of the wall colors in this house. Too much clutter~it really shows up in pictures. ANd way too many things in every room on the walls, on the couches, on the floors etc. The house has a decent layout, just needs a new owner/decorator!!

  2. That house could be very beautiful! I agree with you on all counts. Some great things going on and some not so great. But a decorators hand could bring it to perfection in no time.
Have a good day, dear lady.

  3. This is a listing?!?
Don't they have an agent to tell them to cut the grass.
    Paint the door.
    Turn off the TV.
Pick up the crap under the cabinet in front of the windows that is blocking the light?!
Get the pig, chair, etc. off of the wall.
OK, it might be THEIR taste but they are trying to SELL it right?
It looks like someone just unexpectedly came in with a camera.
They need to rent a storage unit and put half, NO - 75% of that stuff in there. Pull up the blinds and let some sunlight inside but they probably need to dust first.
Jeez, that house could be so great and neither the owners or their agent has a clue.

  5. The house has sooo much potential but yes some of their decor taste is very unique.
I love to see Homes like this and decorate them in my head.
You sure make house hunting fun!

  6. Love the style of the home but wow, some of the things in their including the pig. It wouldn't take much to make it nice.
Holding out on us, can't wait to hear some hopefully good news. I have you on my mind alot.

  8. This is a great house and I could move right it and make it my own with w few paint choices here and there. I probably would put my traditional red door on the front, but leave the shutters black. Great house!

  9. I love your open house photos. It makes me feel so good about my own home....LOL I am amazed this is an open house. What is with the pet bowls, lite cords everywhere and all the extra furniture? With all the shows on HGTV showing us how to "stage" our homes, this should look a lot better. :) Kit

  11. *whisper your secret to me* I promise I will tell no one! ;P Lovely little Tudor. I would buy it strictly for the kitchen if I could, and I would restore the rest! The stove truly is *to die for*

  13. What you don't like "country safari"? They do need some advice
on how to show a house.
Can't wait to find out your secret.
Did you get that puppy after all?

  14. This is why they invented home stagers. I agree with all the things you dislied but I agree it could be a great house. Unfortunately some home buyers wouldn't be able to look pass the rooms crowded with too much furniture, the numerous animal prints, or the unkept yard.

  17. Making us wait, are you? That's not nice -- but since YOU are nice, I'll forgive you! Hope it's either a great job or a great four-footed friend.
