Dita Von Teese

The Showgirl Next Door
The February issue of In Style Magazine had this glamorous article about
Dita Von Teese in her 1946 Los Angeles home.
(notice one of her dachshunds in this shot)
The only room missing here that I really wanted to see?
Her bathroom, of course.

  8. Nita, I think you should have a bedroom like this one! I loved this article, how glam and fun. I am in love with the heart shaped pillow on her bed. Which was your favorite room? The kitchen reminded me of yours!!

  10. Now, I'm enjoying living in a somewhat minimalist modern house at the moment but I could move into this place in a quick heartbeat and be quite happy. What elegance. The closet made me swoon and I agree with you, what must the bathroom look like?
I want that car, want it!

  15. I <3 Dita Von Teese and have a complete girl crush on her. I think her style is impeccable old-Hollywood glamor, so I'm not surprised her house is the same. I can't say I'm in love with the pink kitchen, but I totally want that art-deco magenta sofa!

  16. I love that saying...to thine own self be true. Wish I had been. I probably was afraid that other people would call me a freak or poor. I just vintage. Everything had a certain glamorous look to it. I guess I was way ahead of my time. ~Ames

  23. I just had to say some more things about this. I do love how Dita is true to her style. She has loved this look since she was a teenager and set out to live like a Pin Up. I went to YouTube and looked her up and watched her act. It is true Burlesque (she takes it all off except for pasties). But her costumes are over the top and its so tasteful...you forget she is naked. Plus she does it on toe! She has a background in ballet. Pretty amazing.

Someone commented that they couldn't imagine Marilyn Manson living there...and that is because this house she bought after their divorce. He cheated on her....and thought she should be ok with it. That is how he expected their marriage to be.

  26. OK, I hate to admit this but I had no idea who she was. (I don't have cable...is she on that?) and then last night I decide to watch CSI, a show that I only occasionally watch and there she is! HA! How funny.
What a pretty girl! I wish I had her dressing table and her bedroom...but most of all I wish I had her flawless skin! LOL!

  47. Beautiful photos! I love her Vanity Table Center! She's one of my many icons, one of my many reasons I am who I am and in a town full of jeans, hoodies, tracksuits, trends, and "casual"-dressers, -I truly don't mind wearing my glamourous dresses, seamed stockings attached to my sexy garter belt, sinched waist by my curve hugging corset and peep toe heel, gloves. (Forgive my run-on-sentense) Dramatic eyes and red lips. It gets irratating hearing from Monday to Sunday "Wow, all dressed up, huh?", "Where's the party at?", "Going to the Emmy's?", and whatever else they can come up with to simply ask one question "Why are you dressed up like that all the time?" Well, same reason I gave my mom when I was a child, " 'cause I wanna!" Ha! lol

Okay, aside from my rant. I'd kill an army for that car! That vanity center, that kitchen!

  48. How lovely! I echo Lucy's sentiment about becoming a murderer for that car!
