Christmas by Candlelight

Keep the Fire Extinguisher Handy!
It occurred to me that I never show the candles all lit in my fireplace.
That is because it takes awhile to light them all (and blow out) and it kind of scares me.
This candle holder is actually three candle holders grouped together.
It's pretty...but dangerous...
(like Violet)
In front is your standard candelabra that is used often in fireplaces.
And to the back and to the sides are folding holders.
They are hinged like a screen and can be turned this way and that to make
different configurations.

I had bought the two folding candle holders for another project in my old house.
When I bought the front candleholder for this fireplace, it just didn't seem like enough.
So I thought I'd try the other two with it...and yes, that worked.
I painted them all white and shabby chic'd em.
A few more shots of the room at night and with candles lit.

And lastly...every year I buy at least one new Christmas CD.
This is this year's...
Listen to samples of the songs here...

It has turned out to be a great addition to my collection.

  3. 18 candles I think I counted!! It looks amazing all lit up Nita. You must want to sit in that room and just stare at your mantel. Everything looks so pretty and christmassy! I just saw Annie Lenox today on the Today morning show, she has a heck of a voice, doesn't she.

  8. They are gorgeous lit. They scare me in old houses too and we have a no candle rule in our old house.

  14. Absolutely gorgeous, Nita! Every single decoration you've shown is just sooo beautiful. I don't believe you need to worry about the candles in the fireplace. I wouldn't think they would be any more dangerous than a log fire, and they look so fabulous there.

Thanks for linking to my party. I look forward to having you join me each week.

And please be sure to come by and enter my fantastic year-end giveaway. Click the picture in my sidebar for details.
