Open House Sunday

Today's Open House is the Tulsa, Oklahoma Cabin vacation home of the late Charles Faudree.

Charles and one of his beloved Spaniels.
This cabin was added on to several times...roof lines raised and walls pushed out.
A charming spot overlooking the water.
I'm in love with the rustic white wash of it all.
The kitchen is a bit cluttered with useless stuff for my taste but it is pretty.

Notice the sweet primitive portrait above the fireplace and the village below.
This is truly cabin living at it's finest.
A lovely spot for a Christmas Eve toddy.
I love the way he used blues throughout this home.

Charles was a true talent in the design world, wasn't he?

Read all about his cabin here.

  8. What a nice tour, timely for Christmas.!

I found a line in your text that spoke to me: 'The kitchen is cluttered with useless stuff.' -- I needed to hear that. Today.

  9. Very comforting home. His kitchen is perfect for me. I have a large Spode collection in blue also and use it as our daily dishes, so having it all at hand on open shelves is perfect. Very useful kitchen. Having everything hidden from view is useless as a collector. Love his style.

  10. I think I have every magazine feature ever done on "The Roost" as I think he called it. A reminder to me that there is no such thing as 'too much' where country French is concerned. Thanks for sharing this.

  13. I recall this Trad home article. I love his style too, and this "cabin" reminds me a bit of Betsy Speert's style. Ill meet you in the den for that hot toddy. Don't forget to bring the dogs.
