Warm Kitchens

Yes, pinning again...this time white kitchens that are warmed up for fall and winter.
I love the look of a mirror in the kitchen.
Keep thinking I'll add one to mine...but haven't found the right space or mirror.
Another mirror. I almost put one behind my stove but my stove top is black
and the last thing I want to reflect is the black stove.
Pom Poms on the kitchen sink skirt. Oh...that's pretty.
Love the way the beadboard is here too and that still life painting.
A chalkboard wall behind a vintage stove makes for an interesting backsplash.
Of course I love all that subway tile.
And the pretty little sink and faucet in the island.
I still have yet to install my pretty kitchen faucet.
Love the color of the cabinets here and that chandi!
I'm way over black and white checkered floors seeing as I have one.
I think wood is a prettier option.
Ran across this 1920's toaster on Pinterest and fell in love.
Hopped over to Ebay to get myself one to find out they are like $500!
Other vintage toasters are inexpensive but this one is much desired.
I can see why...it's very very elegant.
A piece of art at your morning breakfast.
Not that I would ever use it.
But oh.....I'd love to stare at it.

Hope you are keeping toasty warm wherever you are.
We had our first cold snap and it was a bit of a shock to the system.

I'd forgotten what it was like to be cold.

But give it a few days and I'll be used to it.

  1. Yes, this time of year I want my kitchen warm! I love the pictures of the first kitchen, pinned them.

I'm loving this cold weather, especially since we have sunshine along with it!

  2. I like that toaster too....I wonder why fine designing and details for appliances like that went out of style?

  3. I really like your inspiration here today. Those kitchens are all marvellous in their own way.
I hope to have a black and white floor in my next house! :)

  4. Hi Nita, you know what gets me every time, aside from a creamy white kitchen? Wood countertops. That wood island top is just so warm and welcoming I think. Great post. And my grandmother had a similar toaster. Wish I still had it!

  8. All very pretty! I have a "thing" for white kitchens. I love them. I can't believe that hubby and I used to have one of those vintage stoves with the griddle in the middle. The one in the pic. with the chalk board wall. Oohh how I would love to have it today! Back then, it just seemed outdated!

  9. Love the kitchen with the pom pom trim on the sink curtain. I am ready to move into that kitchen.

  10. These are some great kitchens! I used to keep a mirror over my stove in my last house -- had to replace it a couple of times because it got too hot and broke! And of course, it was always splattered with something. I miss my black and white floor!

  11. I'm not a fan of the first photo because of the wall blocking the space to left and the ceiling fan.
But I love the bead board one and also the one with the chalkboard wall.
My dream is to have glossy subway tile but I'm torn between marble counter-tops and dark butcher block ones.
    (Or maybe glossy black! LOL!)
I have a mirror in the kitchen and I couldn't be without it.
I love how it reflects light.

  14. I have to ask: does anyone ever cook in these kitchens? I'm thinking spaghetti sauce spots, fried egg grease, toast crumbs, just plain gunk from all sorts of stuff dropped, splashed, tossed and fallen. I had chocolate chip cookie dough all over the place one evening, a soda bottle fell out of the fridge and spilled itself on the floor. All that sort of mess.
These kitchens seem fine for magazine spreads, but not for real life. Am I missing something here?
