Snow Day

Snow, Snow, Magical Snow
It's snowing here! I know that's not much news for many of you where there
have been blizzards. But we haven't had much weather this year.
And I think it's rather shocking that we are getting it.
I thought it was going to be a winter without.

Oh...it's so pretty coming down.
Franklin doesn't know what to think of it.
He isn't interested.
Which surprises me because Violet loved it when she was a puppy.
She's not interested any more though.
She's twelve and seen it all...or so she thinks.
I'm hoping to stay home and do some Valentine stuff.
I need to call in to work and see if they need me.
I am a sucker for anything red velvet and it's perfect for Valentine's Day.
Isn't that sweet? A little cupcake in a cup with a heart shaped strawberry on top.
Caprese salad is one of my favorite things and this would be a perfect salad for Valentine's.

Have you made your V-Day plans?
Staying in or going out?

We are suppose to have snow again that day so I'll probably stay in.

Happy Snow Day!

  1. I'm so glad it's snowing there for you, Nita! I miss it so much. I kinda doubt we'll be getting any now this late in the year. We've only had a dusting while south of Nashville they've had much more. Well, Violet is an older lady now and too sophisticated to romp in snow but I'm surprised that Franklin doesn't love it.

I love that red building with the snow falling! And all of your Valentine foods. We'll stay in and leave the restaurants to others. That caprese salad looks like something I could do. I have a heart cookie cutter.

  2. Today's snow is SO pretty! I'm glad it's just snow and not any ice. I didn't know we might get more Thursday . . . I always feel bad for the poor florists' delivery people when it's bad weather on Valentine's Day!

Hope you get to enjoy an afternoon at home!

  3. I think I will be staying in! All I ask is that I get a romantic card from Dave...and of course my kids knew that I loved cards, so sometimes I get beautiful valentines from them and it makes me sooo happy!! I love your photos~the teacup one especially. Last year I ordered two candy boxes (the vintage ones) from etsy and can only find one...darn it!I have no idea where I stashed it. Happy V day Nita!! xo

  6. I've waited 'til the very last minute concerning Valentine's Day. I'll scramble around tomorrow and try to figure something out....but our kitchen will be torn-up on Friday, so the timing is not good for the holiday!

I'm enjoying these fun Valentine's posts. :D Maybe I can do more next year.

  7. That first photo is SO pretty!
All our snow is melted and it was in the forties today and will be again tomorrow but then it's predicted to turn cold again and snow.
    MY Valentine's Day plans?
    Bah Humbug.
I'll work all day and then come home and be surrounded by my loved ones. My furry little loves.
    :)

  8. Jack the cat is just pretty ticked off about this snow. He does NOT like to stay in and have to use the litter box. He keeps going from back door to front door. Like maybe the weather will be different at one or the other. HA! He's a silly boy! Maybe you'll make it to the barn sale in a few weeks. Hope so anyway!

  9. Chicago went a lonnnggg time this year w/o measurable snow but has gotten lots of it in the last couple weeks. Hope you were able to stay home today! I have to work Valentines and stay late after to tear down Valentines displays; next morning in early to reset for Easter -- ah, the joys of retail!

  10. I didn't realize that the blizzard was that far inland. At least you are enjoying the snow.
As far as Valentine's Day we are definitely staying in. But we are going out on Friday. That is the anniversary of my open heart surgery and my hubby celebrates it like my second birthday. He says he never want to come that close to loosing me again.
    Enjoy that snow.
