A Mod Vintage Christmas
That's Steve's Christmas tree from last year at An Urban Cottage.
Isn't it wonderful?
I love seeing everyone's Christmas decor, don't you?
I am torn between doing my big white tree this year or my smaller green skimpy
tree that I love and have not put up in awhile.
It is similar to the one above.
I can't decide which I want to do
I had planned to have most of mine up by today but as usual life got in the way.
I don't know how many of you manage to get the things done that you get done
when you plan to have them done.
I keep getting my schedule interrupted by other people's plans.
So far this year...I've put up Christmas decorations for four places.
Yep, four trees for other people and none yet for me.
Today, I was to do my own...but when I went to have lunch with a friend's Mom
who is having health issues....I arrived to find all her Christmas decor
sitting in the middle of her living room.
She said. "We got it all out because I thought you could put it all up for me this afternoon."
Six hours later...I was done but too pooped to even start my own.
I also decorated for my friend Shannon M who is still bedridden at the moment.
We are hoping she will be up walking by Christmas.
Anyway...I decided she needed some Christmas decor in her living room even
if she didn't want a tree. So I did a big decorative garland around her tv armoire...
I had fun...did something I wouldn't do in my own home.
I'll try to take a photo this week.
Last week....I went to lunch with my friend Deidra and lunch turned into a power shopping session
and ended with me putting up HER tree and decorating it.
I'll tell the story of her tree later in the week.
I really need to take photos of it so you can see what I'm talking about.
Last year...I didn't do even one tree and this year I've done four and have yet to do mine.
All I can say is I'll try again tomorrow.
Here we go with last week's favorites from Mod Mix Monday.
There were some great holiday things included.
to make this holiday swag from it.
I can just imagine a whole wreath of this...or for that matter pillows and tablecloths or even tree decorations.
Ok, that's the wrap up.
I'll be back with the story of Deidra's Christmas tree and my own Christmas stuff
if I can ever decide green tree or white tree?
Anyone have an opinion?

There were some great holiday things included.
Jeri of Decorating Hemlock showed off her dining room makeover that included this creative hutch.
She married a painted dresser with the wire bins. Isn't it great?
Shanna of Restoration Redoux painted a vintage chandelier blue and hung it in her kitchen.
Very nice!
Scribbler Unfocused painted this desk and mirror in chartreuse.
This girl loves her color and I love how these now read as one unit.
It's wonderfully good.
Jen of City Farmhouse shared the how to for making these elegant coffee filter Christmas trees.
These ruffle trees are so inspiring...maybe I need to make some.
Kim of Reposhture had some left over dropcloth material lying around and became inspiredto make this holiday swag from it.
I can just imagine a whole wreath of this...or for that matter pillows and tablecloths or even tree decorations.

Hello my fellow night owl. Your friends must see that you are not only a very talented tree decorator but someone with a very kind and loving heart. How lucky they are to have you in their lives. I hope that you feel the joy you brought to them.
ReplyDeleteI have a great project that I will post and link up to your party tomorrow.
Traci
I have to agree with Traci - what a generous person you are. Those people are so lucky to have a wonderful friend like you in their life.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting! Wishing you a beautiful week and time to put up your Christmas decor. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
ReplyDeleteNita, I LOVE Steve's tree. In fact, I used that as my inspiration for this year's tree (although mine doesn't look as good as his). I'll be revealing it soon. I love Decorating Hemlock's dining "hutch." So clever! Can't wait to see your and Deidra's trees. Hope you find time to get to your own decor after helping others with theirs. Thanks so much for hosting!
ReplyDeletelove that first pic! and scribbler's desk and mirror combo, wow! thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a big heart!
ReplyDeleteI love that even though you do not have your tree up you took the time to help everyone in need. That's the real Christmas spirit.
Blessings Nita.
((Can't wait to see what you do with yours))
Thank you so much for the feature! I am enjoying this so much more this way. And yep, I do love my color!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Traci also, what a wonderful friend you are and your friends are so blessed to have you in their life!! I don't know how some people manage to fit in so many things a day, I'm always in awe lol. I love a green tree but there's something to shabby and french about a white one! Thank you so, so much for the feature!! I'm so honored to be included with so many gorgeous projects!!

Jeri
WOW with all that tree practice your will be fabulous if you ever get to it lol have a lovely week thanks for hosting
ReplyDeleteSo nice you are giving everyone a hand with there trees! Hope you get yours up, I love for the white one. Thanks for hosting, Laura
ReplyDeleteHow about the green one in the living room and the white one in the dining room?
ReplyDeleteOr vice versa.
I love your white tree but if you haven't seen your green one in a few years maybe it's time for it to shine!
I see why you have so many dear friends -- because you are such an amazing, giving friend. But take some time to take care of yourself! If it makes you feel better, I have almost nothing done either :) Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeletexoxo, Andrea
THank you Nita!!! Your blog looks great, catching up on ALL that I have missed:). Have a great week, Jen
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting! Life to the full, Melissa
ReplyDeleteDo both! I have a huge manzanita branch that I wired with tiny white lights and it has a few glass ornaments on it. I also have a small artificial tree with all of the traditional ornaments (blue, green, tea, turquoise colors only) on it.
ReplyDeleteNita- Do both. The skimpy tree however, is so retro that one would be hard to resist.
ReplyDeleteYou are one sweet lady for helping so many others get their Christmas cheer on! You rock!
and last but not at all the least, Thank you for including my little swag in this beautiful mix of features.

ReplyDeleteThank you !
Kristin
You are just too kind, my dear Nita, that's why you have done so much for others but not for yourself. Please be kind to yourself now and put up a tree and lots of pretties for YOU. Or soon you will feel overwhelmed and under appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Would you pull your hair out if one more person asked you to do both trees? Pretty please.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love seeing everyone's Christmas decor. Steve's tree is perfect! Love the rug in there too.
ReplyDeleteGreat party, Thank youn for hosting.
ReplyDeleteYour so good to put all those trees up! Your header is adorable! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSherry
I love vintage, victorian, shabby chic styles. Your home is lovely. I'm glad I found your blog :)
ReplyDeleteNita,
ReplyDeleteThe things you did for your friends....those are the real spirit of Christmas...not the tree itself. You brought a lot of joy to others.....Bless you!
Nita,
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing you are to others. I know your talents are many and those around you so enjoy your work! You are sowing seeds of kindness! I am still trying to finish a few things. Thanks for being a hostess to so many! Merry Christmas!
Miss Bloomers
Nita, you are so kind. Maybe you can enlist some help to do your tree next? I wish I was closer, I would totally come help out :) I could feed you cookies while you decorated. LOL. Whichever you choose.. and possibly both will be brilliant I am sure. I skipped a tree this year. We are going to Hawaii for our 20 year anniversary right after and I didn't want to deal with taking it down before.. or coming home to it. Problem solved.
