I'm still loving them...
This is brilliant!
An old floor lamp turned into a planter pedestal.
The colors and textures are amazing!
This silvery green with the vintage silver is
an elegant combination.
Planted between stepping stones.
They look good in so many types of containers.
A succulent fountain...sublime.
In other news....I have a mouse infestation.
Violet caught one last week.
So far I've trapped six of them. Yuck....
They are so cute...I hate to kill them.
But I cannot live with mice in the house.
I knew something was going on over a month ago but just didn't deal with it.
I hope to get it under control soon.
Violet had to go to the vet yesterday, her back was bothering her and it scared me.
She is doing better today.
Some friends of mine have asked if I will ever do dachshunds again after
my recent troubles.
I will, I love them too much. I'll just have to deal with the heart break.
None of my mother's or my sister's have had any back problems.
Knock on wood.
Violet should be fine with a little rest.
Dachshunds abound here too. One with two spine injuries recovered both times. Much older now just about blind and very poor hearing she still manages to wobble about.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Violet will be fine.
Now as for those displays of succulents I am not sure I could pick a favorite.
Just want you to know sending prayers up for Violet to feel better in no time!!! Oh, the succulents are stunning! That first photo is just magnificent. I have a huge pot of the hens and chicks this summer, but it was so hot here, I don't know what happened to them, the stalks are there but the little leaves are not, and I am hoping they come back out! Take care, I have had you in my thoughts and wanted you to know that!
ReplyDeleteI love succulents Nita and these photos are stunning! How cute filling that pretty silver gravy boat with them! Glad to here Violet is feeling better:) Martina
ReplyDeleteLove the succulents in the path with the stones. Charlie Ross has bad knees. The vet had to come the other day because Abi had fluid on her lungs. Charlie was in pain, and she said he may have to have surgery on both knees. So these are problems with Yorkies.

I have suddenly become obbessed with succulents! I love them and I want some. You can bet I will have some next year!! Poor Violet, hugs for her and hope she is better!! Thanks for sharing these pictures, I really enjoyed them!
ReplyDeleteViolet please feel better as your Mommy has been through so much lately. Mice, oh no I could not have them either. The deer nibble on my succulents here so all are looking awful but these look yummy.
ReplyDeleteThat first one is amazing. It looks like a huge flower arrangement.
ReplyDeleteLove your succulent inspirations!! Glad that Violet is doing okay- hope everything is back to normal soon! Thanks so much for featuring my chalkboards too Nita! I haven't gotten much blogging done this week at all- hope to join your party again next week! Hugs, Courtney
ReplyDeleteI've never seen succulents look so good! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear Violet is okay. I am sure that was a scare you didn't need.
ReplyDeleteI love the succulent pictures. I have no had succulents until this summer and I am looking forward to planting some more as soon as it cools down here. It has been 100 the last three days. I am ready for fall.
My love to the weenies.

I love the floor lamp idea...pure genius. (-: Have a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am also in love with succulents - my husband makes hypertufa planters and they are perfect in them. Hope Violet does well.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lisa
I cannot live with mice in the house, either. I used to feed my cat in the basement and that is where I had one feeding. When I got rid of the food down there, I caught the mouse. Glad your baby is feeling better :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Violet wasn't feeling well and I'm so glad to hear that she is doing better!
ReplyDeleteIf you love Dachsuhunds then that is what you should get again. I always had large dogs and then I was given a 10 year old rescue dog, a Maltese. She was a wonderful dog, and then Toy Poodle rescues, Shih-Tzu's, Chihuahua, Papillon.....and I would get all these breeds again because each one was/is special to me. Just follow your heart.
I love all the succulents! Mine are turning red right now. So pretty. (and a kitty could take care of that mouse problem! The shelters are full of sweet mousers! LOL!)
XOXO - Cindi
The succulents are really pretty! I love the muted colors. I have never seen something quite like that and in an old lamp stand! Hope Violet feels better!~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteHugs to you and to little Miss Violet. Those succulents sure are purty! Had Hens and Chicks at my folks for years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty idea putting a flower basket in an old lamp...I had a basket of string of pearls many years ago, and the little "pearls" would just grow longer and longer. It was an easy plant to take care of. Hope you are successful getting rid of the mice..I have had to do it too, and I hate it!
ReplyDeleteOh I love them too. That first photo is fabulous. I keep saying I am going to change some of my pots over to them but haven't done it yet.
ReplyDeleteMy succulent pots still look *so good* I wonder if they will survive the winter. I know that some are good for colder weather.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo with the pinks are *stunning*
*le sigh*.......
xoxoxoxo,
Ricki Jill
These are just beautiful arrangements! I've been using succulents more and more because I don't have to repot with each season. You've given me fresh inspiraiton. Thanks!

I'd love to see more pictures of your garden.
ReplyDeleteWould you please send me the source for the first picture of flowers planted in a lamp stand? I tried the link but it is broken. Thanks! Nice article - it is inspiring.
