Sofa
I happened upon this photo the other day.
I love this sofa.
Ottoman
After watching "The Holiday" over the past holiday, I'm obsessed with having a velvet ottoman
for my living room.
I found these photos of it over at Hooked on Houses
If I do one for my living room though...it would have to have a skirt.
Because according to design rules..my living room is looking rather jittery because
of there being too many legs showing.
I think a tufted, skirted ottoman would be just the trick to calm the space down.
I tried to find a perfect photo of what I had in mind but no luck.
Love velvet furniture and love that sofa :) Pink and green, yum.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you DIY but I was thinking the other day that a shipping pallet covered in foam and batting would make a perfect base for an ottoman like that. Add pretty legs from Lowe's and you'd never know it was a pallet. Will probably do this myself one day but have no room at the moment. So velvet will have to wait for me :)
Titti has a good idea about making an ottoman...hmmm...anyway I love it too. Velvet is so lucious.
ReplyDeleteI think the hot pink sofa looks even better placed up against the one green wall. So cool! I can see why you love it, I do too.
I love that combination of the pink and green. Not for my house, but it's quite scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteHmmm
ReplyDeleteMy bedroom is painted that green color and I thought that I hated it.... maybe if I threw in some hot pink?
Personally I didn't noticed the ottoman in that movie, I was busy looking at Jude Law :) :) :)
I'm new to your blog and want you to know that some of your postings have really inspired me to go with my feelings on colour. I have ordered my fuschia sofas and started buying colourful cushions to go with them, like the lime green. Thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteI have the pink sofa photo in my files and drool over it often. Not only is it pretty but it also sppears to be comfortable or I imagine it to be.
ReplyDeleteI love velvet furntiure! How fun it would be to have a tufted velevet ottoman. I adore the pink couch in the first photo. There is a local boutique near me that has on display an apple green velvet small couch that I have been eyeing for awhile. The owner does not want to sell it but I've given my name if ever the chance should come up. I thought it would be fun with some fuscia colored pillows.
ReplyDeleteNita -- these are luscious! I emailed you a link offline to a round skirted velvet ottoman at Frontgate that even has storage. Style name: Rebecca
ReplyDeleteOh, velvet ottoman with silk twisted cord fringe. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI can highly recommend a velvet ottoman! I have a star-shaped one covered in scarlet velvet in my bedroom! And oh, how I did love that cottage in The Holiday!
ReplyDeleteI have adored the ottoman in that movie ever since the first time I saw it...swoon! It is the perfect color, too. Although they don't have the exact same color, or a skirt (great idea!), go to jcpenney.com and search 'cocktail ottoman' and you'll find they have one in velvets at a fantastic price. I've been eyeing one myself!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the velvet ottoman is a winner. And what about that sofa in the first image - I want it!
ReplyDeleteHi, Dawn from Suitcase Vignettes just dropping in to say thank you for following me...I am now your new follower and excited to do so...can't wait to get home and grab a cup of coffee while I scour your blog for inspiration and delight...Have a great day!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just what I needed today.
ReplyDeleteI am longing for COLOR after putting away all the Christmas decor. My studio is all shades of white and cream, but wouldn't some color like this bring bubbles of JOY to my soul!!!
I love your sense of beauty and am so blessed that you share these lovely inspirations. Thank you.
