All in a Row

I love this photo...the long felt stockings and the tattered wallpaper, the hydrangeas, chandelier,
turquoise chairs, crystal and china.
I'm hoping to get my Christmas mantel up today to show over at
The Lettered Cottage tomorrow.
She's having a Christmas Mantel party.
I am also working on my dining room furniture.
I can't wait till its done and I can pull that room together.
I also did a little thrifting last week which I rarely do and found some cool stuff
that I'll show later in the week.
I'm now thinking I need to make some new stockings for the fireplace.
I'm tired of the ones I have.
I need four...one for each dog of course.
I went searching for stocking inspiration.

ReplyDeleteNita,
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a mantle any more :(
This year I will need to enjoy everyone else's photos! Can't wait to see your mantle!
Thank you for these great pictures. I am trying to figure out what to do with the stocking this year and I am loving the photo of them at the end of the bed! It would bring a little Christmas to the kids rooms!
Thanks!!
Wendy
There were some this month in Country Living made of old sewing patterns, they were amazing too! You should check those out... wish I was in the mood to make them! These are al so lovely
ReplyDeleteThe first photo with all that vintage goodness is just a match made in heaven. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I used very plain traditional stockings this year. Going for simple.
ReplyDeleteWonderful stocking inspiration....love them all! Can't wait to see your new stockings and the goodies you found!!!!

ReplyDeleteMay your stockings be filled with love (and dog treats) this year
ReplyDeleteThis time of the year I wish I had a mantel to decorate more than any other time of the year. Looking forward to seeing your finished project.
ReplyDeleteNita,
ReplyDeleteI was going to point out the tattered wallpaper until you mentioned it. As great as it looks, I would find it hard to leave it that way. I also love that photo and there's something very interesting it. It's an awfully odd place to hang a shelf...just a few inches above that wainscotting. I'll bet it's a staged photo. But what a great idea for people who don't have a fireplace to have a "mantel shelf" decorated and with stockings hung to give that same feeling. I love it.
hmmmm....I have an almost overwhelming desire to wallpaper a wall and then scrub it and grunge it up! And I kinda want a piano to whitewash too! I LOVE the bedroom (and ofcourse the all white room with blue!)
ReplyDeleteMy fireplace is out in my booth but this post reminded me that I need to make some stockings and take them out there to hang on the mantel!
I can't hardly wait to see furniture all painted!

You went thrifting...yayness! I think you need five stockings lovey...one for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bunch of stockings....love each and every one of them. xo Lidy
ReplyDeleteHi Nita,
ReplyDeleteThey used some sort of vinyl iron on to make the patterns thick and usable for this. I have never heard of that product before, but I am no seamstress! Have you ever used it before? It seems it could be used with wallpaper or cool scrapbook paper (my weakness).
Be sure to show us what you were inspired to do!
Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHere's my version of easy felt stockings:
