Pillow Talk

Pillows collected over time add to the Hollywood ambiance of my home. Sometimes I like to pretend that I'm living in the Hollywood Hills circa 1931. The year my house was built. Oh...yes and that I am Jean Harlow....I have a mild obsession with Jean Harlow.

Pillows around my living room range from vintage bark cloth to vintage satin souvenir pillows from both Hollywood and New York plus a pretty blue ruffle pillow bought recently at Pier 1. These pillows above decorate a long low ottoman I bought at Ross (Love the Ross!). It adds extra seating in the living room.

Living the Mod Vintage Life and pretending I'm a movie star.

  1. I love all the different pillows, you combined them very well. OF course I want the dog pillow for my own home. I am working on a pillow of my own this week.
    Thanks for the inspiraion.

  2. Traci -
That little dog pillow is actually a dog toy (a very posh dog toy). It was a gift from a girlfriend who has scotties. I complained to her that there are never any good dachshund things like there are scotty things. For Xmas she surprised me with this dachshund/dog toy. But it was way too cute to let them play with. I did show it to them though. So they know it's their's. Like when you were a little girl and you had dolls that you just looked at and didn't play with. This is their LOOK AT - DON'T TOUCH toy.

  4. Bella - I hate to say it but that long pillow came from Walmart of all places! You just never know what you'll find anywhere, even Walmart. And I try to stay out of Walmart as much as possible. But sometimes its the middle of the night and you feel like shopping and there isn't anywhere else to shop and whalla...you find a pillow to add to your collection.

  5. Hello Nita...

Ohhh my...what sweetness! My friend, I just adore all of your fabulous decorative pillows! I think that you and I are in the same boat in regards to our love of pillows...you should see all the pillows at my place...I am over-run by sweet fluffiness! Hehe! What a treat to see all of your pretties! I love, love, LOVE the floral barkcloth and pink stripe pillow in the first photo! Ohhh...and that gorgeous sofa in all of its pink finery...breathtakingly beautiful!!! It is the same shade of pink that I am using in my Tea Rose bedroom. I'm not sure as to what color to call that shade of pink but it's one of my favorites!!! Ohhh my, I can't even begin to imagine having an entire sofa in that color! My friend, I see that you have a fabulous home!!! In fact, I was looking down through some of your past posts and came across the photo of your "storybook" home! Nita, IT IS FABULOUS!!! I am adding your delightful blog to my list of blog follows...I do love your style!!! I'm really looking forward to your upcoming posts...so very nice to meet you, Nita!!!

Thank you so much for coming by my place and taking a peek at my Spring Green tablescape and for leaving me such a sweet note! You were asking about my dining room table. I must admit that I don't know a whole lot about it. I found it at an antique shop and fell in love with it the moment I seen it! I love the creamy white...the chippiness...and the column legs. And the best part...I only paid $75 for it! Hehe! So are you thinking that it is ca.1930's? Sure wished that I knew a little more about it...it really is one of my favorite pieces!

Again, thank you so much for coming by! I really am looking forward to getting to know you, Nita!

    Warmest wishes,
