St. Patrick's Day Decor

A Touch of the Irish
I know everyone has moved right on to Easter in their decor but I wanted to do
a little St. Patrick's Day decor.
Mainly, I wanted to make a St. Patty's Day Banner out of Dollar Tree stuff.
All it took was a package of glitter shamrocks, a package of green crepe paper streamers, ribbon
and a glue gun.
I really wanted some gold coins to glue in the middle of each of these or spell out the word LUCKY
but that would have involved another trip to the store...and I didn't want to do that.
This is good enough. I'll embellish more next year.
This is my second banner to make this month...and I'm kind of addicted to making them.
Now I need to make one for Easter.
I put out my sea foamy green dishes and some greenery.
Faux succulents got stuck in a silver footed bowl.
I am really loving faux succulents. They look just like the real thing.
Centerpiece on table is a pussy willow wreath with a tray and candles.
Very simple and effective.
One of my favorite majolica dishes came out for the display.

Thanks for all your suggestions yesterday about my fabric situation.
I took the scissors to that slipcover last night and cut it up to start sewing it into some sort of slipcover.
It's going to be a challenge. I'll use every little scrap of it with some other fabric I have here mixed in.
It's either going to be fabulous or a giant failure.
I'm hoping for fabulous.

Wish me luck...a little luck of the Irish!
(I'm part Irish so hopefully it will work)

Help!!!

if you can....
I posted not long ago about my new ottoman that I'm going to make a slipcover for.
But I have a problem and I'm hoping someone out there can help...maybe.
I was going to cover it in this fabric.
I knew I wanted this fabric because I already had a chair slipcover that I bought
at Pier 1 in the summer made of it.
When I brought the slipcover out and laid it on the ottoman...oh...it was the perfect thing.
It pulled the color of my sofa in with the color of my fireplace.
It made the whole room make sense.

So here is the problem...
This fabric is called "Cisco Teak" they carry it at Hobby Lobby.
They carry it in several places on the internet.
No..problem...I'll go buy a few yards and make my slipcover.

So I go to Hobby Lobby to look at it again and I realize it's a velvet
whereas the slipcover I have is a very heavy upholstery weight cotton.
The colors are more muted on the cotton than on the velvet.

The velvet will be too thick to do the ruffles I want to do and the color is too bright.
I need the cotton but I cannot find this fabric in cotton...only in velvet.

So then I think...I'll just take the chair cover apart and turn it in to a slipcover for the
ottoman.
But it's not big enough!
When I bought this chair cover on sale last summer...they had two and I almost bought both of
them just in case I came across two chairs to use it on.

At the time I thought I was going to use it on my office chair...but it didn't fit.
Anyway...I couldn't imagine needing two if I really didn't even need one since I didn't have a chair it fit.

So of course now....if I had two....I'd be in great shape....I'd be able to stitch up
the cover I want for the ottoman....easily.

This chair cover was on sale last summer.
I did a search for one in our system and found a few in Texas and Missouri but called
and they didn't really have them.

So these don't exist in stores any more.
I've searched and searched the internet for this fabric in the cotton and for any fabric
that would work in place of it.

No luck.

My heart is set on this...

So how can you help?

I'm putting this out there in hopes someone has one of these chair covers they want to get rid of.
They used to be on Ebay...but of course now they aren't.

Just hoping....one of you might have it and not want it.

I learned my lesson....I thought I should buy two of these last summer.
They were like 9.99.
Something told me I should have bought both.

Thanks for reading this long story.

Here is my new favorite thing at Pier 1.
It's a chalkboard in a vintage looking frame.
Cute...isn't it?

I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't need it.

Really, I won't be getting it. But it's so cute!

Email me or leave a comment if you have any idea where I can get a hold of one of those slipcovers.
