Virtual Sleepover

I'm sleeping here tonight....
This is Donna's guest room.

Donna is having a virtual sleepover tonight and all are invited.

I don't know how much sleeping is going to happen because we are watching our favorite movies
that inspire our decorating ideas.

She's showing "It's Complicated", "Somethings Gotta Give" and "The Holiday".
All of which are some of my favorites.
She asked us each to bring a favorite decorating movie.
I'm bringing...
The sets and fashions in this movie take you right back to the 1930's.
It's a great movie too.
If you have not seen this movie....you need to. It's delightful.
The sets are beyond pretty and it's a good old fashion love story.
Music is wonderful too.
As for what I'll be wearing to the sleepover....
I imagine myself all glamorous like Jean Harlow in "Dinner at Eight".
This movie's sets are to die for also.
But this is the real thing...not a modern version of 1930's decadence.
But in reality I'm more likely to be wearing something like this...
Besides to keep from being wrinkled in such fabulous silk gowns you actually have
to sleep standing up!

We'll grill a few trays of these....
Zucchini Pizzas

and since we ate those healthy pizzas....We can then splurge on these...
Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies!

Oh...my....what a night we'll have.
I hope you all can join us and bring lots of goodies to share.

Mod Mix Monday 16

Interesting Mix
I would never buy these things and yet I love how they all look together.
It's all about the mix. I would never look twice at that black patent leather ornate bench
but it is the perfect compliment to the other items in this room.

I've had a hard week with the blog piracy thing and no matter how much I say
I am moving forward and getting over my heart break...
it's physically not happening.
I'm still very sad. So much so, that I went to the doctor and got on anti-depressants.
Yep, I'm telling all. I just cannot be this sad for a long time.
I'll let you know if my mood lifts.
I discovered I can get a generic brand of Celexa at Walmart for only $4.
That means you can be poor and still get some help.
Which is what I needed.
(good to know if anyone out there is struggling with depression)

Ok, now on to what I loved last week in Mod Mix Monday.
Courtney at French Country Cottage had another great idea this past week.
Little fancy chalkboards made from thrifted frames.
Tattered and Timeless created a lovely big chalkboard out of an antique dresser mirror.
Laurie at House to Your Home painted a little table in a chevron pattern.
It's MOD now...that's for sure...but lets just say it chevron is
zig zag.....just like Charlie Brown's shirt and rick rack.
I don't know why everyone is so impressed by zig zag these days.
Although I do like this table.
and I had to include this one because I personally love this kind of furniture.
A very pretty makeover by Uniquely Chic.

I promise I'm really going to try to get some new posts going this week.
I'm trying...but knowing I should and being able to do it are two entirely different things.

Now link up your mixes for this week below.

I want to see anything new mixed with something old.
Antique and Modern side by side.
Something old made to be new or something new made to look old.
Vintage and Modern going hand and hand.

Please link to your project post not to your entire blog.

Open House Sunday 19

In Oklahoma City
Built 1929
(see listing here)
This one I've actually been in a couple of times.
It's a duplex that was completely redone several years ago.
A friend of mine lived in one side for awhile.

You enter into a covered hallway with a doorway to each home opposite each other.
Each side mirrors the other.
Two exact copies.
Each side has a fireplace like this.
Up some steps to the dining room. A deck is off the french doors in the dining room.
I love that feature.
Each side has a matching kitchen.
I would have chosen other finishes but you can't deny this is nice.
Each side has a staircase leading to bedrooms upstairs.
and overly decorative bathrooms
Still very nice. I could live here.
So I said a friend of mine lived here for awhile and then another friend of mine
wanted to buy it for her and her boyfriend to live in.
He'd live on one side and she on the other.
I thought that was a fabulous solution for making a relationship last.

Ideal...I think.
No squabbles about who has to clean what.
Who should pick up their socks.
Who should take out the trash.

You both have your own side and you can have sleep overs.
The perfect arrangement, if you ask me.

Thanks to all of you that were supportive about my little blog piracy.
I was so happy when it got taken down.

Have a nice Sunday!
